Remedy and 505 Games confirm Control release date alongside new gameplay trailer

Control release date

Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming supernatural action-adventure game Control now has an official release date for us to add to our calendars, and to accompany the news, there’s also a fresh gameplay trailer for our perusal.

We first heard about Control during last year’s E3 event, which is when it immediately caught our attention. Set in a unique and ever-changing world that sees a familiar reality side-by-side with strange and unexplainable goings on, it looks to combine Remedy’s trademark gunplay with a host of supernatural abilities. You’ll take on the role of Jesse Faden, the new Director of a secret agency in New York, which is subsequently invaded by an otherworldly threat. She’ll have to regain control of the situation. This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments, all whilst fighting through deep and mysterious worlds – which is portrayed rather well in the exciting gameplay trailer.

So, when’s the Control release date? Well, 505 Games and Remedy Entertainment have announced that it’ll launch on 27th August, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (via the Epic Games Store), with pre-orders now available at a price of £44.99. Anyone pre-ordering Control will receive two additional and exclusive in-game items; the Tactical Response Gear outfit for Jesse and a Crafting Resources Pack. There’s also a physical Retail Deluxe Edition to consider – costing a little more – with collectible FuturePak Exclusive Metal Packaging and limited-edition art cards included alongside the game.

Will you be getting your Control pre-order locked in swiftly? Let us know via social media or in the comments section below. Maybe this cool gameplay trailer can sway your decision…
