Remnant: From the Ashes announced for Xbox One, PS4 and PC release in 2019

-

Gunfire Games have already got their hands full with the creation of Darksiders 3, but it seems they aren’t content to just deliver us one new game as today comes the announcement that they have teamed up with Perfect World Entertainment to develop Remnant: From the Ashes.

Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2019, Remnant: From the Ashes is being billed as a survival action shooter that comes complete with huge dynamic worlds, the most intense of combat and more than a smattering of strategic four-player co-op.

Set in a bleak future where Earth has been overrun by extradimensional beings, humanity’s last hope for survival is to flee to alternate dimensions for safety, and to uncover what these mysterious beings are after. This is where you come in building characters to suit your own individual playstyle as you try to survive the perils of diverse and deadly environments – either alone or alongside a team of up to three other players.

Offering a unique, customizable gameplay experience filled with intense shooting, melee combat, gear and weapon crafting, character progression, deadly enemies, epic bosses and dynamically-generated levels that offer an infinite number of ways to explore, it seems like Remnant isn’t going to be lacking on the old content front.

“Perfect World Entertainment jumped at the opportunity to partner with Gunfire Games.” said Yoon Im, senior vice president of publishing at Perfect World Entertainment. “Their deep expertise in creating fantastical worlds, steeped in rich sci-fi themes make them the perfect partner to expand our company’s portfolio of live service games. Remnant: From the Ashes will deliver a unique, dynamic world that provides an infinite number of ways to explore and combat enemies. We know players will love our twist on the survival-action genre.”

“Remnant: From the Ashes is about working together to build something bigger than yourself, and that idea is core to our approach to the game,” said David Adams, Co-Founder of Gunfire Games. “Perfect World Entertainment has been supportive of our pursuit to develop a game with a robust co-op experience. The company’s live service knowledge coupled with our signature gameplay and world building, enables us to develop an immersive world that we hope players will enjoy solo or together, for years to come.”

Features include:

  • FIGHT. ADAPT. OVERCOME. – Each world will present new challenges and perils to overcome. Throughout their journey, players will encounter dozens of monsters unique to each environment. Fight tooth-and-nail against creatures both big and small – from towering behemoths the size of buildings to countless hordes of small, deadly terrors. Adapt… or die trying.
  • EXPLORE FANTASTIC, TERRIFYING REALMS – Explore beautiful, dynamically-generated worlds – each with their own unique creatures and environmental challenges. Gain experience and adapt new strategies to survive the dangers of each world.
  • CRAFT. UPGRADE. SPECIALIZE. – Band together with others to improve chances of survival. Protect and befriend skilled tradesmen and offer them the safety of a home base. In turn, they will offer valuable skills and resources for upgrades, crafting and enhancements for weapons and gear.
  • STRENGTH IN NUMBERS – The Root are ruthless and deadly. To stand a chance, players will need help – they need a Team. In Remnant: From the Ashes, players can group with up to three other survivors. There are multiple hero archetypes to choose from, each designed with unique skills and advantages to help the group survive.

If you are interested in Remnant: From the Ashes and are visiting Gamescom or PAX West then you’ll find it making its public debut with fully playable hands-on demos. Make sure you swing by the Perfect World Entertainment booth to give it a go.
