Having been left out of previous iterations of the WWE video games, Rey Mysterio is returning to the gaming scene as a playable character in WWE 2K19 for the first time in four years. All you need to do to get your hands on him is pre-order the game.
With the ‘Never Say Never’ motto in place for this year’s game, it’s appropriate to see former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio getting involved. Throughout his entire wrestling career he’s faced insurmountable odds against Superstars much larger than him and come out on top more often than not. The revolutionary luchador is set to appear as a playable character in WWE 2K19 wearing the ring gear used during his surprise appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble match. But the ‘Master of the 619’ isn’t the only pre-order bonus content, with a second playable character to be announced in the coming weeks by 2K.
“As one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time, as well as one of the most frequently requested in the WWE 2K franchise, we’re thrilled to celebrate Rey Mysterio’s career by bringing him back as part of the WWE 2K19 pre-order offer,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. “His embodiment of ‘Never Say Never’ throughout his career also makes him an incredible fit to share his story as part of our global marketing campaign.”
The standard edition of WWE 2K19 is currently scheduled for a worldwide release on 9th October, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with those ordering the Deluxe and Collector’s editions four days earlier players on 5th October, 2018 via ‘Early Axxess’.
