Taking place after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith comes a brand-new story in the Star Wars universe. And Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available to play today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order puts players in the shoes of Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan that is one of the few remaining Jedi Knights after the purge of Order 66. On the run, you need to put your Order back together again, all whilst completing your training and staying one step ahead of the Empire.

Fallen Order is a single player game featuring a strong narrative and cinematic lightsaber battles, set on iconic worlds that fans will instantly recognise, but also worlds new to the series. The same goes for characters, creatures, droids and enemies; it promises to feel familiar and fresh all at the same time.

Lightsaber battles require patience as you parry and dodge before waiting for your opening to strike. Early impressions have likened it to Dark Souls combat as you look for enemy weaknesses to seize the advantage. It is easy to pick up but gaining new powers and abilities on the way will make sure you need to keep practising.

Fallen Order also features metroidvania style exploration; some areas won’t be instantly accessible. You will need the correct powers and abilities to traverse certain areas, allowing for repeat visits to worlds to fully explore them.

Key Features Include:

  • ● Cinematic, Immersive Combat – Jedi: Fallen Order delivers the fantasy of becoming a Jedi through its innovative lightsaber combat system – striking, parrying, dodging – partnered with a suite of powerful Force abilities you’ll need to leverage to overcome obstacles that stand in your way. This combat system is intuitive to pick up, but takes training and practice to fully master its nuances as you gain new powers and abilities along your adventure.
  • ● A New Jedi Story Begins – As a former Padawan on the run from the Empire, you must complete your training before Imperial Inquisitors discover your plan to revive the Jedi Order. Aided by a former Jedi Knight, a cantankerous pilot, and a fearless droid, you must escape the evil machinations of the Empire in a story-driven adventure. Explore and overcome a wide range of challenges focused on combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving.
  • ● The Galaxy Awaits – Ancient forests, windswept rock faces, and haunted jungles are all unique biomes you’ll explore in Jedi: Fallen Order, with the freedom to decide when and where you go next. As you unlock new powers and abilities, opportunities open up to re-traverse maps in new ways; leveraging the Force to augment the way you explore. Move quickly, however, as the Empire is actively hunting your every step in their effort to exterminate all remnants of the Jedi Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes in two versions. There is the standard version priced at £59.99 and the deluxe version priced at £69.99 that comes with some extra goodies. Both versions have 10% discounts in place for EA Access subscribers, and if pre-ordered come with the Orange Lightsaber Blade Color, 2 cosmetic Lightsaber customization sets and Cosmetic skin for BD-1, but the deluxe edition also comes with an additional cosmetic skin for BD-1, Cosmetic skin for the Stinger Mantis, Digital Art Book and a 90-minute Director’s Cut “making of” documentary. A Deluxe Upgrade content pack is also available for £9.99.

With the release of this special looking game and Episode IX just around the corner, it’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan once again. As always, keep an eye out for our review, and let us know in the comments if you are and whether you will be picking the game up!
