Rocket League to celebrate its 2nd birthday with a brand new update!

-

It’s hard to believe that Rocket League has been around for nearly two years already, but as it nears the time when we should be celebrating the birthday of one of the most popular of games, its developers have announced details regarding the next update.

The ‘Anniversary Update’ will launch on July 5th 2017, bringing a new arena – the Champions Field – to the Competitive, Casual and Private matches. A modern stadium to play host to your modern day matches, the Champions Field will be accompanied by the start of Competitive Season 5 and Rocket League Radio…something which adds in no less than 18 new songs from the Monstercat record label.

Additionally, further content will include two new Import Battle-Cars – ‘Animus GP’ and ‘Centio V17’ – both of which will be available exclusively as drops inside the new ‘Overdrive Crate,’ and for the first time ever, new customization options like ‘Engine Audio,’ ‘Goal Explosions,’ and ‘Trails’ that are a mix of FREE selections and Crate drops.

You can also expect to see planned new Achievements and Trophies too.

With a community of more than 31 million players, and the most joyful of gameplay experiences holding it all together, whether you’re a Rocket League veteran, or an absolute newcomer, you’ll find a ton of exciting moments with every Rocket League match… and the latest update will just look to push it on even further. If you don’t believe us, just check out the new trailer below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
