Shadow Warrior 2 released – comes with free copy of first Shadow Warrior

For many Shadow Warrior was a bit of an underground hit. Granted, it’s not the greatest game you’re ever likely to play, but Lo Wang’s story was a decent little playthrough, ensuring the game gathered a fairly sizeable fan base. Now though Lo Wang is back in Shadow Warrior 2… and if you didn’t play through the first, you can get that for free!

Available to purchase right now on Xbox One, Shadow Warrior 2 continues the tale of Wang, now a reclusive mercenary surviving on the edge of a corrupted world. You’ll need to wield a combination of guns, blades, magic and wit as you strike fear into the enemy and take down the demonic legions threatening to overcome the entire world.

Not only is a full solo player campaign available, but should you wish to head online and take in the four player cooperative mode, then you can do so. The procedurally generated landscapes and super powerful weapons, armor and relics near on demand it.

Head on over to the Xbox Games Store right now and grab Shadow Warrior. You’ll find that it’ll normally come in with a £54.99 price tag, but for a limited time it can be grabbed for just £27.99. You also get a totally free copy of the original Shadow Warrior thrown in for good measure.

What you waiting for? Wang is ready for action!

Game Description:

Shadow Warrior 2 – Launch Edition includes the first Shadow Warrior. Shadow Warrior is a bold reimagining of the classic 3D Realms’ shooter from independent developer Flying Wild Hog starring the legendary and quick-witted warrior Lo Wang. Combine the brute force of overwhelming firepower with the elegant precision of a katana to annihilate the merciless armies of the shadow realm in an exhilarating and visually stunning transformation of the classic first-person shooter. Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One. A massive racing fan, Forza 4 was the daddy of all Xbox titles but Forza Horizon 3 now trumps that. Online first person shooters are my hell....probably because my reactions are so poor, but give me a little Indie title and I'll be in heaven. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

This is the 3rd game, not the 2nd. The article makes it sound like Shadow Warrior is this obscure game but it had a very popular original back in the late 90’s. The reason I played the last SW was bc I remembered how badass the original was on pc. Nothing underground about it.
