Having released a few years ago on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, Skullgirls 2nd Encore is finally branching out to both Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms, courtesy of Skybound Games.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore is a beautifully hand-animated game that looks set to bring a fast-paced 2D fighting experience with it. Take control of an amnesiac schoolgirl, a princess, a circus performer, a monster, and more, as you go into battle in an extraordinary Dark Deco world full of interesting personalities. You can expect a fully-voiced Story Mode, plenty of Challenges to tackle with a variety of different battle conditions, a selection of trials, and a Survival Mode to see how long you’ll last against an endless amount of opponents.
As for an exact release date for its arrival, well, there isn’t one yet, but Skybound Games have announced that it will release Skullgirls 2nd Encore digitallyfor the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One this spring. Also, pre-orders for a limited-edition, boxed version on Nintendo Switch are now available at Skybound.com. The Skullgirls 2nd Encore Limited Edition Nintendo Switch box includes:
- Skullgirls Encore Switch Cartridge with all previous DLC
- Skullgirls Switch Controller Skin
- Skullgirls Original Soundtrack, by composer Michiru Yamane, on a never-before-released 12” Vinyl Record
If you’re heading to PAX East, which is in Boston this March, then it’s worth noting that Skullgirls will be playable on the Nintendo Switch at the Skybound Games booth. So be sure to give it a look if you get the chance.
