The upcoming futuristic, turn-based strategy game Phoenix Point is now slated for a physical release, courtesy of a partnership that’s just been announced by Snapshot Games with Koch Media and Deep Silver.
Developed by Snapshot Games – a team that features the original X-COM creator Julian Gallop – Phoenix Point looks set to take us to a world where the human race has been decimated by an alien threat; leaving the few survivors to gather in isolated havens located all over the place. Get ready to plan your operations, research new technologies, and build alliances in order to unite the planet, or destroy your rivals. You’ll also be able to customise your squad and deploy into conflict zones around the globe, with dynamic objectives to tackle and destructible environments to contend with.
Due to the presence of procedurally generated maps, as well as branching storylines and Pandoravirus infected enemies that mutate to counter your tactics, there are a huge variety of challenges and surprises in store throughout. And if nothing else, it’ll at least ensure no two playthroughs of Phoenix Point are ever the same, thus keeping the experience fresher. Ultimately, it aims to deliver a new breed of turn-based strategy and tactical gameplay for you to experience.
Phoenix Point is expected to launch on 3rd December, 2019 on PC via Epic Games Store, whilst a release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 should come to fruition in 2020. If digital ownership isn’t your thing, then be sure to keep an eye out for those physical copies becoming available following distribution through Koch Media and Deep Silver.
