With the release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD fast approaching, the quicker you can roll, the better things will be. And you won’t be able to roll any faster than when taking charge of a special unlockable character – Sonic the Hedgehog!
Coming direct from Green Hill Zone and joining the realm of Monkey Island, SEGA have today announced that Sonic the Hedgehog will be found joining the cast of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD! Yep, for the first time ever, Sonic joins the cast of Super Monkey Ball when the latest game in the series launches on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 on October 29, 2019.
Sonic will become available as a hidden, unlockable character in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, giving you the chance to play as the world’s fastest hedgehog comes with some unique effects. See, in addition to boasting incredible speed, by selecting Sonic you’ll find that the game automatically changes all stages’ bananas to golden rings, complete with nostalgic, classic SFX.
But Sonic won’t be the only hidden secret available in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. Those who think of themselves as fully skilled simian sphere-rollers will also be able to unlock a selection of costumes for every monkey in the base cast – just in time for Halloween.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD launches on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4 on October 29th 2019, revitalising the classic gameplay with updated visuals, optimised controls and more. If you’re up for a little roll then you’ll find that physical pre-orders are now available at all major retailers, and by getting involved in that will find you are given access to special sticker sheets featuring AiAi and friends! You’ll also be able to pick the game up digitally.
