It’s time for the Super Heroes and Super Villains of the Marvel Universe to be thrust into action for another LEGO outing in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Can you prevent Kang the Conqueror from reigning supreme?

Kang the Conqueror is a time-travelling menace who’s hell-bent on ruling a whole host of recognisable locations and dominating the heroes trying to protect them. In this original story, co-written by comic book veteran Kurt Busiek – known for his work on the Avengers and Iron Man, as well as many more – Kang has gathered 18 locations inside his base of operations, Chronopolis. Join Marvel favourites, and lesser known characters, from different eras and realities, such as Spider-Man 2099, Gwenpool and Hulk, in this epic adventure where time manipulation plays a huge part in the gameplay.

“Packed with signature LEGO® humour, LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes 2 delivers a huge, intergalactic saga that spans the Marvel Universe,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “The game introduces new features and an incredibly large open world for players to roam and explore, from the mythical land of Asgard to the deep space base of Knowhere and many more imaginative settings.”

“The game offers unprecedented opportunities for exploration and imaginative creative play within the LEGO® version of the Marvel Universe,” said Sean William McEvoy, VP, Digital Games & Apps, The LEGO® Group. “It’s great to see so many larger-than-life characters, settings, and stories coming to life in this vibrant, beautiful, and epic game.”

“Whether you’re a Marvel fan or a LEGO® fan, the collaboration with LEGO® and TT Games has produced an original experience that will be fun for all players,” said Jay Ong, SVP, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment. “With a huge array of brand new characters from the Marvel Universe and an all-new mind-bending time manipulation mechanic, this game is sure to provide hours of fresh and authentic gameplay.”

Those wanting to traverse to the likes of Sakaar, Ancient Egypt and The Old West, will have to pay $59.99/£49.99 for the privilege of owning LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 via the Microsoft Store. – at least if you’re in the North American region. UK-based gamers, hang tight for just a few more days, until it launches on 17th October.

The LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Deluxe Edition is also out now on Xbox One, costing a tad more at $74.99/£59.99, and this includes the Season Pass. The Season Pass features 6 new playable levels and 4 character packs released over time, inspired by films and comics of the Marvel Universe – Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Black Panther etc.

Which version will you be buying? Can you resist the additional content inspired by some of the biggest upcoming movies? Don’t forget to check out our exclusive article with the main man behind LEGO Marvel Super Heroes too – we had a little chat with Arthur Parsons.
