Looking for something a little different? Planet Rix-13 is certainly that.

Available from today on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS Vita, Planet Rix-13 will see you hunting the galaxy for worlds that are potentially suitable for life. Just like every decent game though, things go disastrously wrong, your ship becomes out of your control and you’re forced to action an emergency landing on the nearest safe surface.

But is any surface safe? Well, it seems not in Planet Rix-13 and as you leave the confines of your ship to explore the world for inhabitants, will find yourself avoiding deadly dangers and fighting against hallucinations all whilst trying to take in and research the land you are on. Can you find a way home? It’s not going to be easy but by partaking in the swift journey found in Planet Rix-13, you may just find out – you’ll have to be aware of the multitude of traps and secrets though.

Planet Rix-13 on Xbox One will set you back just £4.19 from the Xbox Store, and if you are after a cheap and cheerful little adventure, then we reckon you’ll just about enjoy what is found within. Our full review will give you all the necessary details should you be tempted, but when you consider that this is a game that offers multiple endings, that price point seems hugely desirable.

Planet RIX-13 is a classic 2D adventure with pixel art graphics that takes place on an uncharted planet. You are the pilot of a spacecraft that is looking for and exploring worlds that are potentially suitable for life. While scanning the next target, you lost control of your ship and had to make an emergency landing. It quickly becomes clear that you are not the first person on this planet… You have to study the ruins of a long-dead civilization and the abandoned laboratories of researchers who have been on this planet before you. Avoid deadly dangers, study the local flora, fight with hallucinations, and find a way to eliminate the cause of the accident. Do your best to leave this planet and return home!
