Take on a mysterious puzzling planet in Q.U.B.E. 2 – out now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

-

Back in 2011 a new puzzle game arrived to bend the mind of many gamers. That game was Q.U.B.E. and it was received very well. Now though we have a sequel and Q.U.B.E. 2 promised to take everything that was great about the first game, honing it and taking the puzzling aspect on to the next level, if only to ensure our minds are put through a proper workout!

Available right now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Q.U.B.E. 2 puts us in the shoes of British archaeologist, Amelia Cross, after finding herself wandering a beautiful yet mysterious alien planet. With the help of fellow survivor, Emma, you will need to help Amelia take on the challenges of the Q.U.B.E and help her find a way home. But it won’t be easy and the constantly shifting environmental puzzles that were found in the first game are back – just this time they have been refined even more and help play out the action around Amelia’s own intimate story and her quest for survival.

Priced at £19.99, Q.U.B.E. 2 will no doubt be well received by the huge puzzling community, if only because it looks absolutely gorgeous. With more than 80 puzzles to solve, multiple cube types to understand, and enough variety in gameplay mechanics to ensure you never get bored, this could well be a game that will see you immersed for many a day.

Our review of the game will be with you very soon – perhaps by the time you are reading this. One thing you can be sure of though… Q.U.B.E. 2 looks utterly brilliant and should be right at the top of any puzzle fans list. Get to your favourite digital store asap – yep, that means the Microsoft Store in our eyes!

You won’t be disappointed.

Game Description:

Q.U.B.E. 2 is the sequel to the hit first-person puzzle game Q.U.B.E. You are Amelia Cross, a stranded archaeologist who has mysteriously awoken among the sand swept ruins of an ancient alien landscape. Together with the distant help of another survivor, Commander Emma Sutcliffe, you must traverse and manipulate the structure of this forgotten world to find a way back home. Waking up wearing a strange suit with attached gloves, you have no prior knowledge on how you came to be in this environment. Awaiting you is a maze-like monolith, a structure that you must navigate, solving mind-bending puzzles. Use your manipulation gloves to change and adapt the architectural structure in your search to rendezvous with another survivor, finding a way off the planet. As you explore and solve puzzles to progress, thought-provoking questions about your true purpose and the origins of the structure you are navigating will need to be considered, forcing you to come to terms with a devastating truth that will shake your world. Features – Master eleven puzzle areas and solve over 80 individual puzzles – Explore diverse environments that expand the Q.U.B.E. world – Experience an all new adventure and brand new characters – Interact with new and improved game mechanics – Original musical score composed by BAFTA nominated composer, David Housden – Full colourblind support, using symbols as a colour aid
