Interested in a single player first person shooter that features an original story based on the film rights of The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day? You should be keeping an eye on the progress of Terminator: Resistance – particularly now that it has received a confirmed release date.

Due to blast onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 15th in Europe and Australia and then on December 3rd for those in North America, Terminator: Resistance promises to be everything you have ever wanted in a Terminator game… and then some.

Pushed out and published by Reef Entertainment, after being handled in development terms by Teyon, Terminator: Resistance for Xbox One, PS4 and PC takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, set nearly 30 years after Judgment Day, before expanding upon the Future War glimpsed at in the iconic films from James Cameron.

Terminator: Resistance will introduce us to a new hero, Jacob Rivers, a soldier in the Resistance Pacific Division. Despite the fact that Jacob is just a private, he’ll soon discover that he’s been targeted by the latest threat from SKYNET and marked for termination! And whilst SKYNET may be destined to lose this war, what will happen to Jacob? You’ll be able to find out as you experience the events leading up to the decisive final battle, attempting to smash SKYNET’s Defence Grid and help decide the fate of mankind in the war against the machines!

Key features of Terminator: Resistance on Xbox One, PS4 and PC include:

  • Resist the machines! Fight against a selection of iconic enemies from the films, including the T-800, as well as a host of enemies that are brand new to the Terminator universe.
  • Equip an arsenal of plasma weaponry to run and gun or sneak and hack through sprawling environments! The world isn’t as forgiving as it used to be so you’ll need to search for scraps to trade and craft.
  • Choose the kind of hero you want to be by levelling up your skills while exploring post-Apocalyptic Los Angeles. Complete story missions to rise through the ranks of the Resistance as well as side-quests to help your friends.
  • Change the fate of mankind! Protect a motley crew of survivors, each with their own motivations and backstories. The actions you take throughout the game will impact their survival and change the ending you get.

We’ll be sure to remind you as and when Terminator: Resistance arrives on the Store, but for now make sure you check out the trailer below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
