The fight continues to build as Guilt Battle Arena gets new free update

-

It promised frantic one-bullet gunplay – and pretty much delivered on that front. But Guilt Battle Arena fell flat in many other places on its initial launch, with a lack of content ultimately proving its downfall. Today though all that changes as a free update has arrived!

Being pushed out to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Steam players, version 3.0 of Guilt Battle Arena promises to push the local multiplayer battler forward.

The basic gameplay stays the same – each player has one gun and one bullet, firing it to cause damage and then frantically chasing after it in order to pick it back up, dodging shots from others in the process. With a simple two-button control scheme, it is a game that is very much accessible for anyone looking for some local multiplayer fun.

Now though Guilt Battle Arena sees a new patch drop, and this delivers six new game modes (pushing the total to 13), to in turn offer twice the content previously available. You’ll be left to fight through a gauntlet in Cup mode – alone or with three friends – and try to unlock all the medals, add insult to injury in Heart Stealer mode by taking enemies’ hearts to heal when they’re defeated, and battle alongside a pet in Alien Pet mode, where one character’s gun is swapped to that of a damage-dealing creature.

Four new modifiers are also available – Short Range, Low Gravity, Fast Bullet, and Shoot Behind – allowing fighters to combine multiple modifiers like never before, shaking up matches and adding flair to kills.

If you need a breather though, you can set out to defeat the Dreadful Judge and his minions by unlocking levels in Horde mode. Available for up to two players, this sees the battle increasing with chaotic streams of enemies coming your way. Are you ready beat high scores and earn bragging rights?

“Guilt Battle Arena is a true learning experience for me, and I’ve loved hearing what people have to say about it,” said Tim Verrouil, sole developer at Invincible Cat. “By implementing that feedback, I’ve made this new version into something I can’t wait to show everyone.”

Guilt Battle Arena is available right now on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC. You should find the update rolling out right about now.

Should you wish to know more about the game, our review will sort you out.
