The Shadow of the Tomb Raider Digital Deluxe and Croft Editions release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

-

The trilogy is coming to an end.

Over the course of two games Lara Croft has developed into a merciless, stealthy killer who seemingly cannot be stopped despite the human and supernatural threats thrown at her. But it’s finally time for Lara to shape herself into the ultimate Tomb Raider as she faces an ancient Mayan apocalypse sweeping across the tropical surroundings she finds herself in.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is gunning to see out the modern Tomb Raider trilogy in some style, giving players a luscious jungle to explore that looks amazing, especially with Xbox One X Enhanced visuals, as well as opening up many gameplay options. Going into any fight guns blazing will most likely get Lara killed (she is still human, just), so blending in with the fauna and picking off enemies one by one, striking with a silent arrow or melee weapon, will be the best way to tackle each fight you get into.

One of the biggest criticisms of 2013’s Tomb Raider and the more recent Rise of the Tomb Raider was the lack of actual tombs to raid. Granted, the sequel upped the opportunities for puzzles, tombs and exploration, but Shadow of the Tomb Raider is introducing a ton of challenging tombs to beat and claim the treasures of. Having an open mind to puzzles and reacting quickly to traps will be key in traversing each tomb, especially with the unique deadly tombs which contain even more dangerous traps and trickier puzzles. Love it or hate it: underwater traversal will be coming back in a bigger and more claustrophobic way!

If you simply cannot wait to get your hands on the ultimate version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider then purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Croft Edition should be top of your to-do list. The former will give players some bonus weapons and outfits, the Skills Booster Pack, an Xbox Avatar outfit and the digital Official Soundtrack for the game, whilst the more pricey Croft Edition will contain all this as well as more in-game weapon and outfit packs as well as the Season Pass for the game. If you do not wish to spend the respective prices of £64.99 and £79.99 on these versions then you will be able to pick up the standard Shadow of the Tomb Raider game for £54.99 from Friday 14th September 2018. Pre-order this edition before Friday, however, and you can expect a Skills Booster Pack and Xbox Avatar Outfit to come with the game. That is certainly a lot of editions and a heap of content, and of course Shadow of the Tomb Raider will also be available on PS4 and PC!

The final curtain is closing on Lara – and the show seems to be spectacular indeed! Will you be getting involved? Let us know in the comments.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
