The Surge 2 carried on the action-RPG madness of the brilliant original game to ensure that gamers on Xbox One, PS4 and PC had the opportunity to keep on dismembering enemies forever more. Yet even though the base game provided plenty, the Kraken expansion – and upcoming Premium Edition of The Surge 2 – promise even more.

Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on January 16th 2020, Deck13‘s acclaimed RPG will be hit with hours of new content, with The Kraken expansion adding new narrative-driven content with a brand-new storyline and location. And as you may expect to hear, it’ll also come with a wealth of new weapons, implants and armour to discover and craft too.

Set on the outskirts of Jericho City, you’ll be tasked with entering the VBS Krakow, a massive decommissioned aircraft carrier retrofitted as a retreat for the rich and famous. From there, the opportunity to battle robot pirates, deranged security systems, and an imposing new boss, each with their own unique combat mechanics, will play out. And after the rather tasty initial opening delivered via the base game of The Surge 2, that all seems rather appealing.

Should you be looking to fight hard and wish to uncover the truth behind the desolate military vessel, then The Surge 2 The Kraken expansion is going to be something you need to take in. And there will be multiple options available to those looking to enjoy it too, with the expansion arriving on January 16th 2020, alongside the Premium Edition of The Surge 2, which not only includes the Kraken Expansion, but also has plenty of new content to discover such as the URBN Gear Pack, the Public Enemy Weapon Pack, and the latest Jericho’s Legacy Gear Pack.

That said, if you wish to get in early, all Surge 2 Season Pass owners will get an exclusive 48 hours early access, meaning they can play starting January 14th.

Will you be heading back in? Let us know in the comments below. And if you haven’t played the original The Surge either, hit up our review and get in on the slice-and-dice action.
