When KEMCO are behind a new adventure, you can usually be sure that it’ll turn into a bit of a magical affair, and with Wizards of Brandel on Xbox One and PC, that is once more looking to be the case.

Wizards of Brandel is the latest KEMCO title to rock up onto Xbox One and PC – with Xbox Play Anywhere support – following on from the likes of Asdivine Menace and Antiquia Lost for instance, to once more deliver us a fantasy world full of magic and lore.

Priced at £12.49, Wizards of Brandel sees us placed into the shoes of a young wizard, Darius, who has found himself homeless after failing to pay his rent. Thrown out onto the streets, Darius meets up with a young female swordsman, and a plant girl who is in constant need of water. Teaming up as a terrible trio, these guys head on out to travel the world before them, fighting back against any foes they may happen upon, working their way through secret dungeons and partaking in the odd side-mission or two.

With turn-based battling, item crafting, weapon upgrading and more to enjoy, if you’ve taken in any of the numerous other KEMCO additions that have arrived on Xbox One over the course of the last few years, then Wizards of Brandel looks to tempt you in once more.

Should you be up for the challenge and wish to give it a shot then the Xbox Store will deliver the usual Xbox One download your way. Keep an eye out for our review too – we’ll be sure to let you know our thoughts as and when we can.

There are numerous little DLC additions that accompany the launch of the base game too, with SP x3 (£2.49), Experience x3 (£4.19), Experience & SP x2 (£4.19) and Damage x2 (£4.19) packs all available should you be looking for a helping hand.

Game Description:

The young wizard Darius loses his house after he fails to make a loan repayment, and ends up living for free in the house of a wanted sorcerer! As he meets a female swordsman who has absolutely no sense of direction, and a plant girl who shrivels up immediately if she doesn’t drink enough water, fate decrees to end up traveling together. Where will the quarrels over differing principles lead to? Unleash continuous attacks with Limit Burst in turn-based battles and form partnerships with the Familiar Spirits! The Magic Lab lets you power up your skills and you can also enjoy setting fields, dowsing areas, and visit side-job rooms to get items at the Magical Garden! Furthermore, explore towns and secret dungeons, experience all the achievements you know and love, such as weapon strengthening, item crafting, and the arena!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
