It’s time to take on the Outbreak in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

-

For months we’ve been waiting in anticipation for the start of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s first content drop for Year 3. That wait is now over and it’s time to fight the Outbreak.

If you’ve not been keeping up with recent news however, today is the day in which Operation Chimera, the first of the Year 3 content drops arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and the Outbreak co-op event is what you should be excited for.

Since its initial launch and the re-introduction of Terrorist Hunt, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has failed to bring any new game modes to the table. Year 3 aims to change that, and Operation Chimera’s highly anticipated Outbreak event is the first to be excited about.

In Outbreak players will team up in co-op groups of up to three, to go against the infected hordes of parasitic enemies that have hit a small town in New Mexico. Here you will need to rely on your teammates like never before, as the tense close quarters combat brings the challenge to a whole new level.

In addition come two new operators, both of which harbour expertise in dealing with Biochemical Warfare making them perfect for the ongoing event.

From France and Russia respectively, players will be able to step into the shoes of Lion and Finka, their experience in Biochemical Warfare make them the best chance for Rainbow team and will be the best way to get to the bottom of what’s going on in New Mexico.

Year 3 doesn’t just bring new content however, there are also quality of life changes to be enjoyed by all. First of all, the Renown cost associated to the original 20 Operators and all unlockable attachments will be removed. This change will effect all owners of the Standard Edition, Advanced Edition, Gold Edition or Complete Edition of the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

On top of this, those who purchase the Starter Edition of the game from today will receive a total of six random Operators, two more than previous versions of the game and once activated the three random Attackers and three random Defenders will come together with the other starting operators to give 10 options to choose from.

These changes are an important part of making the game more accessible to newcomers who will also find better accessibility and better progression if starting now.

It’s worth noting that anyone wanting to get involved in Operation Chimera’s Outbreak event will want to do so soon as the event is only available for four week’s starting today.

So, there we have it, the exciting and highly anticipated mode is finally here, will you be heading in to fight the Outbreak in the coming week’s? Let us know in the comments below or via our usual social channels.
