Looking to get your hands on one of the new Titans? Fear not, because the Titanfall 2 Open Multiplayer Technical Test is just around the corner.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers can participate in Respawn’s testing of the servers across two different weekends. For the weekend starting on Friday 19th August, players will have access to two new Titanfall game modes across two of the maps. Bounty Hunt pits two teams of five Pilots against each other and against the Remnant Fleet, where points earned need to be banked in between waves. Pilots vs. Pilots sees eight versus eight matches between Pilots only, putting their combat and mobility skills to the test. Both maps have been revealed; Boomtown takes you to a secret underground facility, whilst Homestead has rocky plateaus and caves which are perfect for hiding from Titans. *Update* – Respawn have decided the throw Amped Hardpoint out for the first weekend too.

The following weekend, 26th August, Respawn will add another mode into the mix called Amped Hardpoint (6v6), which provides a twist on the old mode by allowing double points to be garnered from defending a Hardpoint. Forward Base Kodai is a map located at an IMC substation that’s now been taken over by Militia.

Throughout both weekends you’ll have access to two brand new Titans – Ion and Scorch – as well as Pilot abilities such as Grapple, Holo Point and Pulse Blade. The variety in weapons to use will include a dual-barrel SMG and a deadly horizontal spreading shotgun, known as the Alternator and the Mastiff respectively.

Titanfall 2 gets a worldwide release on October 28th, 2016 on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
