Something big is coming to Xbox One with the next update, something rather big and twitchy in fact.
The next Xbox One system update is due to hit our consoles on the 11th March 2014. Included in that update should be the long awaited Twitch App. The update (and the app), will give Xbox One owners the ability to broadcast live streams directly from the console as well as start live broadcasts via the voice commands and Kinect.
Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi said “This will open up the social aspect of Xbox One in a new way. The community of Twitch is huge, and this allows us to type into that, and frankly do something that’s never been done before on consoles. You’ll be able to broadcast to any device and consume anyone’s broadcast from any device. It’s a console experience unique to the Xbox One.”
It’s something that many One owners have been after since the console was first announced and the timing coincides very nicely indeed with that big Titanfall launch.
Excited yet?

Update: Twitch themselves have now tweeted with regards to an app update time. 4pm PDT on the 10th March 2014 is when the app will receive its broadcasting goodness. That’s looking good for an 11pm UK update time.
