Whilst everyone feasted their eyes on the Ubisoft E3 conference, no one could’ve predicted the opening act… a new South Park game!
Despite Matt Stone and Trey Parker vowing never to get involved in another South Park game after The Stick of Truth, they just couldn’t resist one more adventure. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the kids of South Park Elementary appeared in the teaser trailer of the next instalment… South Park: The Fractured but Whole *giggle*.
Players will end up in the role of the New Kid once more in what aims to be an authentic South Park role-playing experience. The president of Ubisoft North America, Laurent Detoc had the following to say –
“By successfully mixing outstanding comedy with excellent gameplay South Park: The Stick of Truth created a game genre: the Comedy Role Playing Game.
Our teams worked hard, laughed hard and players loved it so we’re back to collaborate on the fantastic world created by Matt, Trey and the talented group at South Park Digital Studios with Fractured But Whole.”
Unlike the previous role-playing adventure, you will no longer be mages and thieves; instead it’ll focus on a superhero theme. It’s time to rid this quiet little mountain town of crime by joining forces with Coon & Friends… a bit like the Justice League but led by Cartman, who portrays a hero that’s half man-half racoon. Team up with Mysterion, Human Kite, Mint Berry Crunch and more to battle the forces of evil.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. We’ll let you know a concrete release date once it has one.
