Up Next – A look at the Xbox One and Xbox 360 games out in November 2014

-

novembertxh2

A new feature on TheXboxHub, ‘Up Next’ will see us take a brief look at those Xbox One and Xbox 360 games coming out in stores the next month…..starting with November 2014.

And what a month to start with as there are a shed load of titles releasing throughout November 2014 for both the One and the 360, the vast majority of which look to be corkers.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare – Xbox One and Xbox 360

It’ll come as no surprise if the latest installment of Call of Duty goes and break all sales records yet again. Advanced Warfare looks to be taking the series in a slightly different direction from its predecessors, now ushering in a new era of combat in the battlegrounds of the future and you can bet your bottom dollar that whilst there will be a solid single player campaign, every man and his dog will want to witness the latest multiplayer madness.

Whilst Advanced Warfare is available on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, if you wish to make the jump to the next gen version then you may wish to make use of the cracking upgrade offer that Sledgehammer Games and Activision have come up with.

Why Should You Buy It? It’s COD innit…oh, and Kevin Spacey is involved!

The Wolf Among Us – Xbox One and Xbox 360

Originally released as an Xbox 360 downloadable arcade title, The Wolf Among Us has made its way to full retail in disc form on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. Putting you firmly in the shoes of Bigby Wolf, there are murders afoot in Fabletown and it’s up to you to uncover and hopefully solve the mysterious going ons. Accompanied by Snow White and other Fable legends, not all is as it seems in Telltale Games’ storyteller where every action you take has a serious consequence on future matters.

Why Should You Buy It? Because TWAU is a delightful story that the vast majority of gamers will warm to.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition – Xbox One

Already out on Xbox 360 for over a year, Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be coming to the Xbox One looking to usher in a new breed of guitarists. Billed as ‘the quickest way to learn guitar’, Rocksmith 2014 runs with a tag line that should see it appeal to both those who already have nimble fingers and those who wish to learn how to strum away to their hearts content.

With an initial track listing ranging from golden oldies The Stones and The Kinks right up to the present day with tracks from the likes of Alice in Chains and Green Day, there should just about be enough for every generation.

And that’s not even including the numerous pieces of DLC which have already been released and will be available for all Xbox One Rocksmith players!

Why Should You Buy It? Rocksmith 2014 promises to be the quickest route to stardom.

Tropico 5 – Xbox 360

Dictatorships eh. We bloody love em and if you do too then there’s only one place to start, Tropico 5 on the Xbox 360.

Starting off in the early days, you’ll get to oversee the island of Tropico as it progresses through the years, taking in World Wars, Depressions and more. Do you have the will power to rule with an iron fist?

Why Should You Buy It? Unless your Richard Branson we’re guessing you don’t own your own island…Tropico 5 will scratch that itch!

Assassin’s Creed Unity – Xbox One

Oh Unity, what have you done to us? Turned us into a blubbering mess with your outstanding visuals and huge open world environments that’s what! The fact we can now go about all our assassiny jobs with a load of friends just makes it all the more enjoyable!

Amongst all the games coming out in November Assassin’s Creed Unity is without doubt the one with the most promise. We’ve covered the game rather extensively already on TheXboxHub and so we won’t tread on old ground. Just jump in with both feet…it’ll be great.

Why Should You Buy It? You’d like to experience the French Revolution…the proper way.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue – Xbox 360

We can’t lie. We play on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 and whilst the vast majority of our AC enthusiasm is being eaten up with Rogues big brother Unity, we still hold a small glint of hope that Assassin’s Creed Rogue is going to be good. From what time we’ve had with the game so far, all things point in the right direction with plenty of AC climbing, AC ship sailing and AC vantage points to climb to the very top of all included.

If you don’t have access to an Xbox One and AC Unity, then Rogue should still be a decent enough experience to take in.

Why Should You Buy It? You don’t have an Xbox One and can’t experience the jaw dropping Unity!

Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Xbox One

If you are reading this, the chances are you’ve played at least one, probably two and maybe even three of the previous Halo titles. Hell damn it, you’ve probably played ALL previous Halo game including Halo: Spartan Assault (admit it!). So the chance to get involved with something like The Master Chief Collection should be something you’ll no doubt be looking forward to. With upgraded visuals, all the DLC and maps from previous games and all of this open from the very start so you can just jump in and play, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will eat up many hours of your gaming time.

Prepared for it?

Why Should You Buy It? Seriously, do we have to tell you why?

LEGO Batman 3 – Xbox One and Xbox 360

The Earth is on the verge of destruction and only Batman can stop the evil Brainiac from destroying it for good. Well, we say Batman, but he may need a hand and thankfully his good pals from DC land are here to help. *Deep breath* Superman, Robin, Billy Batson, Frankenstein, Gorilla Grodd, Dick Grayson, John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, Shazam, Sinestro, Stargirl, Supergirl, Arrow, Conan, Condiment King, Deathstroke, Music Meister, Polka Dot Man, Green Loontern, Man Bat, Deadshot as well as comic book artist, Jim Lee will all be present as well a shed load more.

If the names above were’nt enough to excite you, there’s one more word that should just about tip you into a purchase…LEGO!

Why Should You Buy It? You like Earth right? Well Brainiac needs stopping and the Caped Crusader needs your help!

PES 2015 – Xbox One and Xbox 360

FIFA and EA have been the undisputed footy kings for the last few years but Konami have worked their socks off recently and Pro Evo has been getting closer and closer to the top of the league each season. PES 2015 promises to be the most lifelike version of the beautiful game yet but whether it can tempt the hardcore (and loyal) FIFA players over to the dark side is another matter. The reworked shooting and goalkeeping mechanics may just prove to be the killer features though!

Why Should You Buy It? Because you want a change from the norm.

Shape Up – Xbox One

Tired of the same old boring gym routines? Shape Up for Xbox One has got you covered.

For Ubisoft are trying to inject a huge element of fun into the normally stale, serious world of gym work. Kinect for Xbox One will obviously be at the forefront of the action and so if you don’t own the motion and voice capturing technology then you may wish to invest in one, but essentially Shape Up will see you hitting all the usual muscle groups and will take you through numerous cardio workouts whilst making light of the whole situation.

We’re not saying Shape Up is going to be a smash hit or anything, but it could well be a good old laugh when the mates are round….You can get fit at the same time.

Why Should You Buy It? You can bench press an elephant. What’s not to like?

Far Cry 4 – Xbox One and Xbox 360

Far Cry 1 was good. 2 was better and Far Cry 3 was outstanding. Even Far Cry Blood Dragon (the arcade spinoff) was a superb success and this all points to Far Cry 4 being a must buy.

Set in the Himalayas, in Kyrat no less, Far Cry 4 will deliver the most expansive yet immersive experience yet. Taking on the role of Ajay Ghale, you’ll get to travel to Kyrat in order to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, only to get caught up in a civil war where every decision you make counts as you explore a thoroughly vast and diverse world.

And it wouldn’t be Far Cry if you couldn’t go off the beaten path in order to do a bit of hunting of the local wildlife with leopards, rhinos, black eagles and vicious honey badgers all present.

Why Should You Buy It? To appease the crazy Pagan Min. He’s a bit nuts you see.

GTA V – Xbox One

It’s taken a year but Rockstar are finally giving us the opportunity to take in Los Santos once more, but this time on the next generation of consoles.

Arriving to the Xbox 360 late in 2013, GTA V and indeed GTA Online have garnered a massive amount of fans, with many wondering why it has taken the big R* a year to port everything across. But they’ve finally got there and thankfully all those hours you’ve ploughed into the 360 version will stay with you as you make the jump to Xbox One…all characters will seamlessly appear in the next gen, obviously with finer looking features 😉

Why Should You Buy It? It’s a prettier, grittier version of the game we came to love last year.

Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor – Xbox 360

We need tell you very little about Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor. That’s not because we don’t know much about it (we do!), but it’s because you really should know everything there is to know about the game already. The Xbox One version is outstanding – grabbing the coveted 5*’s from TXH – and there’s absolutely no reason why the 360 version shouldn’t be on your hit list.

Look out for it.

Why Should You Buy It? The Xbox One version is stunning and very much vying for the title of GOTY!

WWE 2K15 – Xbox One

The next generation of sports entertainment is nearly upon us and brings with it a complete overhaul of the wrestling gameplay physics we’ve seen before. Take control of one of the current WWE Superstars, Divas and Legends across a variety of game modes as you seek to reign supreme as a king (or queen) of the ring. Alternatively the all new MyCareer mode will allow you to create your own wrestler to go from rookie to hall of famer whilst entertaining the millions… and millions of fans.

Are you ready to step into the squared circle with John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk and co.?

Why Should You Buy It? To see where the next generation of gaming can take the WWE series of games.

Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom – Xbox 360

A top-down puzzle adventure, fans of the Cartoon Network TV series will be delighted to be able to jump into the shoes of Finn and Jake as you go about exploring the mysterious Land of Ooo. Hidden secrets and encounters with characters and creatures you’ve never seen before will no doubt be something the show fans will jump at the chance to grab. If you don’t know the TV series though, we’re not sure Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom will be that high up your purchase list.

Why Should You Buy It? Funny you should ask because we aren’t really that sure!

Dragon Age Inquisition – Xbox One and Xbox 360

Powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, Dragon Age Inquisition is a role playing action adventure game that will place you firmly in a world where the choices you make and the relationships you forge will determine the action that unfold in front of you.

It promises to be an epic saga like no other and Dragon Age fans should be preparing to invest many many hours into Inquisition.

Why Should You Buy It? One word….Epic!

ESCAPE Dead Island – Xbox 360

ESCAPE Dead Island fills the void between the first game and next years nuts-looking Dead Island 2, however you can be sure that you’ll be coming up against plenty more of the undead as Cliff Calo, tries to document the unexplained events rumoured to have happened on Banoi. Arriving on the island of Narapela, part of the Banoi archipelago, he finds that not everything is as it seems. Unsurprisingly!

This third person survival mystery spin-off appears on the Xbox 360 and pre-ordering it will grant you access to the hotly anticipated Dead Island 2 beta some time soon.

Why Should You Buy It? ESCAPE fills the gap between the original Dead Island and it’s 2015 sequel.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

Wow, you guys definitely have the better library this fall. The resolution might be a little lower but you guys have much better games than we do.

From a personal point of view, I very rarely even look at what is happening on Playstation. That’s not because I dislike it, but because I instead prefer to look at what is going on with the system I know and love.

And with that in mind, the Xbox library is slap bang in he middle of a few months of awesomeness.

But all that being said, I’d love to see more indie titles hit Xbox One. We had a load a few months back and then things have gone quiet again. Looking forward to seeing more turn up soon.
