Warner Bros and Red Barrels announce Outlast Trinity for Xbox One, PS4 and PC

-

We’ve known for some time that Outlast 2 would soon be releasing, but today Warner Bros and Red Barrels have announced an agreement for a full physical release of a new bundle – Outlast Trinity.

Outlast Trinity will become available in stores near you from 28th April – the same day that Outlast 2 releases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This bundle will bring us the brand new game, Outlast 2, along with the well received original Outlast and its Whistleblower content in one big package.

“Red Barrels has made a name for itself in the survival horror genre with the original Outlast game,” said Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. “We look forward to working closely with this great group of developers to bring Outlast Trinity to gamers around the world.”

“We’ve been lucky to have such an amazing fan base, and none of this would have been possible without their support,” said Co-Founder Philippe Morin, Red Barrels. “Ever since we released Outlast in 2013, a physical version has been one of the top requests, so we’re obviously thrilled to finally give people the entire series in one bundle of terror.”

Whilst you can read more about the original game by checking out our full review, the real news is regarding the latest title.

Outlast 2 will take us on a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Playing as Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, you’ll need to constantly take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. As the two follow a trail of clues that start with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them deep into the Arizona desert to a darkness so black that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.

Don’t forget, you’ll also be able to pick up Outlast 2 as a digital title from the Xbox Games Store. We’ll be sure to remind you when it becomes available, but should you have not yet played Outlast, Whistleblower or just want to run through the horror again, this Trinity bundle looks to be the best way.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
