Batman, Jurassic World, Fast & Furious, Back to the Future and more have all joined the Rocket League ranks over the last couple of years, with the customisation opportunities available for RC car controllers running to extreme levels. Now though it’s time for even more options, with the Ghostbusters found blasting their way to the game with a new car, new goal explosion, new game mode and a ton more now present.
Available to purchase and download right now for all Rocket League players, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack comes in at just £1.69, but provides a whole heap of goodies.
As you may expect from the name of the pack, the iconic Ghostbusters wagon is now available to use, with the Ecto-1 providing ghostbusting fans the chance to hop behind the wheel and blast their way around the Rocket League arenas.
Further to this though and the pack also includes a new Proton Pack Rocket Boost, a lovely little Slimer Topper, a new Ectoplasm filled Player Banner and a similar Avatar Border. But whilst the car may initially seem like the biggest draw, it has to be said that pinging a ball into the back of your opponent’s net and scoring a goal, to then see a huge Star Puft Goal Explosion take place never gets old.
If you wish to see the Ghostbusters rolling into Rocket League play then head over to the game or your favoured digital store – Xbox Store for us – and pick up the Ecto-1 Car Pack right now.
But that’s not the end of the Rocket League goodies and accompanying this car pack is a whole new Special Event and new game mode in the game. Kicking off the Rocket League radical summer, we see the Ghost Hunt game mode add to the already decent array of options available in the game as two teams of three players head into the Urban Central Arena and attempt to utilise proton stream power-ups to trap the ball in their opponent’s Containment Zone. If you’re after spooky, this is how Rocket League deals with things!
To give reason for heading back in, the latest Special Event currently focuses on the Blockbuster phase allowing you to earn items centralised around the likes of Back to the Future, ET, The Goonies and The Karate Kid – expect to find a hoverboard, Marty’s cap, Cloth’s Hat, some super cool ET or Ghostbusters wheels and a rather cool Cobra Kai kit for the Octane. You’ll be able to pick up and earn Cassettes in online matches across the casual, competitive and extra playlists until July 1st when a further celebration of all things ’80s kicks off with the 80s Culture theme, followed on the 22nd July by that of 80s TV.
Has there ever been a better time to jump back in with Rocket League? We don’t think so. Get to it and just remember, don’t ever cross the streams.
