Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? : 13th-19th Feb 2018

-

As long as the world revolves, the Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale will continue delivering the goods to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers. This week sees another huge number of discounts made available, with a 2K sale accompanying the usual bargains. But which of the numerous games on sale this week should you be grabbing, which should tempt you in and which should you leave well alone? Here are the best and worst deals available between the 13th-19th Feb 2018.

GrabCastle Crashers Remastered – 80% off – £2.40

Any long term gamer will know all about the draw of The Behemoth’s Castle Crashers, but now, with a massive 80% off the normal price, it should be a game that is on everyone’s lips.

After wowing the Xbox 360 crowd, the remastered version of the 2D co-op arcade adventure in which you head on out to save princesses, defend kingdoms and crash up some castles is just as addictive now – even though it has been many years since its inception.

If you can tempt a friend or two in, whether that be in local or online form, then you’ll struggle to find a better priced, more addictive cooperative crash ’em up then Castle Crashers Remastered.

GrabRoundabout – 75% off – £2.00

Fun, fun, fun. That is what Roundabout is all about and that is exactly what Roundabout gives.

From the very first moment to the very last, you’ll be found laughing your way through this highly unique game, as you try to navigate your way through the world ahead, picking up the cash as the world’s most famous spinning limousine driver – Georgio Manos.

With a 1970s B-Movie style, secret collectibles and dangerous missions, this is about as close as you can get to Crazy Taxi, without it actually being anything like Crazy Taxi.

For £2.00, you’d be crazy to at least not give it some thought and consideration.

GrabRocket League – 40% off – £9.59

You may be wondering why on earth I’m sat here recommending you pick up a game that is nearly £10 in price. But the fact is, Rocket League is unlike any other game.

And that is because it is a hugely entertaining, massively addictive RC cars themed football game, that just gets better and better as the days past.

After wowing the crowds upon initial release, there is next to no sign of the Rocket League phenomenon letting up and so if you haven’t already bought it, you should be grabbing a download asap.

Your life will be turned upside down by this game. Quite literally.

TempterFirewatch – 60% off – £6.40

You’re not going to find yourself spending days, weeks or months with Firewatch, but should you be in the market for a stunning first person mystery adventure, then this is the game for you.

Just a few hours in length, you’ll quite possibly be done with everything it can offer in an evening or two, and that is exactly why it isn’t in the instant grab territory. Instead, the price makes it hugely tempting for those who are just looking for something to kick back and relax with.

The experience is right up there with the very best and whilst we’d love it to be cheaper still, the 60% off is more than welcome.

LeaveNASCAR Heat 2 – 30% off – £20.99

I could sit here and tell you how to ignore the measly 15-35% discounts available on Call of Duty titles, how Virtual Currency for NBA is the bane of the earth or how Snooker Nation Championship would be a bargain at £1.58 except for the fact that it is still a Game Preview title nearly a couple of years after first utilising the feature – I mean, c’mon, does snooker really need to go through a Preview system?. But I won’t and instead I’ll just tell you to ignore NASCAR Heat 2.

You see, whilst it is nice to see the game hit with a 30% discount, it still leaves it with a price tag north of £20. And when you throw in the fact you’ll really want to play with the latest updated rosters, liveries and drivers, will have to purchase the latest DLC pack which takes the price even higher again.

I could also throw in the fact that it’s not a particularly good game either. Oh, and there are a whole ton of better racers out there.

So yeah, leave NASCAR Heat 2 well alone. Please.

There we have it… if you’re after a bargain, this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight sale delivers. Will you be picking up any of our recommendations? If you like the look of those games listed above – or those found in the full listing for 13th-19th Feb – then make sure you save even more money by heading to CDKeys and grabbing some of their cheap Xbox Live Credit. It’ll see your money go further!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
