December is the time of year that most of us are left without a thought for games, with Christmas just over the horizon, and the onslaught of arrivals that came down the line in November still holding our wallets ransom. So, for those of us looking for something a little cheaper to bridge the gap to Christmas, what better place to look than in the worldwide weekly bargain bin that is the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale. So, lets take a look at the best, and the worst of those games on offer in the latest sale running between 13th – 19th December.

And whilst last week offered us quality over quantity with some smashing little titles, this week looks to offer extra quantity with that added extra quality we demand.

GrabMortal Kombat XL – 50% off – £20.00

MortalKombatX_KombatPack_Jason

Join the battle between the Earthrealm and the Netherrealm with one of the weeks best deals as Mortal Kombat XL receives an impressive price cut. Coming complete with all previously released DLC for those looking to get in on the action the Mortal Kombat tournament brings, with its brutal combos and blood spilling combat, do you have what it takes to take on the Netherrealm demons?

For a cut price £20 for everything Mortal Kombat has to offer, you could find out. Absolute Bargain, definitely grab it. You won’t regret it.

GrabOctodad: Dadliest Catch – 75% off – £3.00

Take charge of the world’s favourite octopus through his daily activities, as the devoted husband and father of two tussles with the shopping, takes the kids to the aquarium and finishes the gardening, all whilst on the run from the ever invading chef that looks to alert the world to his true identity. Can you mask your identity or will you end up as the chef’s next meal?

£3 is certainly a friendlier sight to see for a quirky adventure at this time of year, after all most of us have lost that down the back of the sofa this year, right? So we reckon definitely grab Octodad – if only for something to waste a few hours over the Christmas period.

TempterDying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition – 40% off – £29.99

dying light the following

Whilst £30 pounds isn’t the smallest price to be paying out at such an expensive time of the year, there’s no hiding that the amount of content on offer here is certainly justifiable.

Jump in as undercover agent Kyle Krane as you prepare to take on the entire zombie filled open world of Harran, with a wide variety of sharp weaponry at your fingertips that will be more than necessary to slice a path through your undead foe. Of course, you’ll be able to utilise a parkour move set vast enough to make even Mirrors Edge own Faith wince as you scale each of the cities buildings, in search of safety from the horrors of the night.

The enhanced edition also comes complete with The Following expansion that brings together a fresh open area bigger than even that of the base game – with buggies thrown in and plenty of new threats to worry about this is certainly worth a self-indulgent Christmas expense.

That said, it’s a very tempting offer indeed, if only because of the amount of content contained within Dying Light: The Following.

LeaveProminence Poker – Boss of all Bosses Bundle – 40% off – £47.99

prom-poker

Whilst we all have that guilty pleasure that we tend to indulge in, you’ve got to be crackers if you’ve been thinking about spending such an extortionate amount of money on in-game betting chips.

Not only is there the possibility of losing it all in a high stakes game against a lucky opposition, these chips can easily be earnt in game if you have the skills. If you don’t, then why cough up the price of most of these other great titles combined, for something you’re likely to be kicking yourself over after losing them anyway.

Just stay away from the premium content and enjoy Prominence Poker for what it is. Free.

LeaveFarming Simulator 15 – 67% off – £11.55

farm-sim-15

Whilst the grind of getting a farm up and running is always one that’s likely to keep you smiling for weeks, there’s no denying that Farming Simulator 15 wasn’t a great game, and even at a friendlier price point, there’s no way I’d be happy to point you in the direction of a game whose season has been and gone – especially with a newer title readily available for all your farming needs.

Those looking for some casual time just ploughing the fields or sowing the seeds then this may be enough, but if you’re looking for the full-blown farmland experience, we say hold on a little longer and wait for the newer version to drop considerably in price.

So, there we have it, the bargains – and disasters – of the week. If you like the look of our purchasing choices, why not head on over to CDkeys to grab some of their super cheap Xbox Live credit to help those drained gaming funds spread a little further this Christmas.

Don’t forget to check out the full Xbox Live Deals With Gold discounts either.
