It’s another week jam packed with discounts on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. But which of the numerous Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale discounts in place between the 17th-23rd May 2016 are worth getting involved in…and which are best leaving well alone?
Well, whilst there are a huge number of discounts in place, Xbox 360 owners will be struggling to find anything to tempt them in. In fact, other than one ‘must player’ we can’t get too excited about anything over on the older console. Thankfully, there are a couple that Xbox One owners should be grabbing though – if only because the price points are damn good.
Grab – Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris & Season Pass Pack – 75% off – £5.00 – Xbox One
We’re not telling you to buy the Temple of Osiris because it’s a stunning game. We’re telling you to buy it because the current price is too good to turn down.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris isn’t a bad playthrough at all but when you combine it with the full season pass pack and drop its price by a huge 75%, then the fiver you’ll need to spend to jump aboard Lara’s little side quest could well be the best fiver you’ve spent in a while – even more so if you can grab some friends to join you.
Grab – Unravel – 50% off – £7.50 – Xbox One
Unravel released just a few short months ago to plenty of excitement. The tale of Yarny had been marketed brilliantly by EA and we couldn’t wait to get the chance to explore his little adventure.
After receiving decent reviews, all which mostly pointed at the lack of content included, things quickly went quiet for our little red wooly friend. But now Yarny’s tale is available to pick up at half price and that represents stunning value for money.
If you haven’t bought it yet and need something to keep you busy for a few days, then you could do hugely worse than pick up Unravel this week.
Grab – Burnout Paradise – 67% off – £4.94 – Xbox 360
Hands up if you’ve played Burnout Paradise? Keep those hands raised if you think that it’s one of the best arcade racers you’ve ever played? Yeah, thought there would be a few of you.
Burnout Paradise is, without a shadow of doubt, a stunning racer. Full of speed and packed with energy, it is quite possibly the most enjoyable racer you can pick up on any format and at less than a fiver, should be something each and every Xbox gamer should be playing as a matter of urgency.
Just grab it right now!
Leave – Forza Motorsport 6 Ultimate Edition – 10-20% off – £65.59 – Xbox One
Okay, so Forza 6 is a brilliantly stunning game that all Xbox One owners should at least take a look at. But £65? For a game that has been around for a while? Yeah, we’re not too sure either.
If you’re a racer then you would have already picked up Forza 6 and therefore don’t need the Ultimate Edition. If you’re not a fan of speed and simulation, then well, you’re certainly not going to be tempted in at this price.
Leave – Call of Duty: Ghosts Digital Hardened Edition – 50% off – £45.00 – Xbox One
How old is Call of Duty: Ghosts? How the hell is it still commanding such a huge fee? Um…
Released back in 2013, Ghosts never really grabbed the CoD community like many of the franchise’s other titles. We liked it though and would happily blast our way through the single player campaign once more. But not for £45. With 50% off already, it’s going to take something approaching the 80% mark for us to even then begin to get excited about what Call of Duty Ghosts Digital Hardened Edition brings…no matter how much content it contains.
But with the CoD name behind it, we’d hazard a guess and say that price is not going to be hit for many a year yet.
So that’s it for this week. If you like the look of the stuff above and decide to grab something, we’d love it if you could tell us what you pick up in the comments below. If you’re serious about saving even more cash, then you may wish to head on over to CDKeys and pick up some cheap Xbox Live credit first.
