Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 21st February 2017

-

Whilst the start of the month was a bit of slow start when it comes to releases, recent days have seen tons of new games and various DLCs making their way to the Xbox Games Store. But whilst it may be tempting to splash the cash on the various new arrivals, recent weeks have also seen Xbox up their game with the latest Xbox Live Deals With Gold Sale offering some top titles at discounted prices.

So, with that in mind let’s jump into the best and worst of the latest batch of Deals With Gold discounts – those running between the 21st-27th February 2017 – to see where your money is best spent for your next gaming adventure.

GrabDon’t Starve: Giant Edition + Shipwrecked Expansion – 40% off – £9.11

Survival games have been arriving thick and fast on consoles in recent years but there may well be none better than Don’t Starve.

In Don’t Starve players pick from a number of unlockable characters and start in a randomly generated world, one which that they have been summoned to by the villainous Maxwell and are tasked with one simple thing.. Survival. Of course this may sound simple to those of us who do it on a daily basis, however looking after another by means of virtual guidance can be a tricky endeavour and in Don’t Starve, there’s a lot more to worry about than hunger with overall health and mental stability affected by a number of different hazards in the world.

In this bundle is the included expansion Shipwrecked. This sees players leave the original island setting, travelling to new locations across the seas whilst doing battle with all threats including those that lurk between the waves.

Whether your someone who’s looking to uncover their next indie gem or simply a fan of survival games, Don’t Starve is certainly a must play title.

GrabHand of Fate – 67% off – £5.28

Whilst I’m not usually one to indulge or even understand most card games, Hand of Fate is one game that really surprised me – coming with gripping gameplay and engaging battles, Hand of Fate does a great job of mixing some of the best rogue-like features into an easy to understand card game. After meeting a strange dealer in a cabin at the end of the world, players take their hero on an adventure dealt to them by the dealer making for an exceptionally different path each time.

This may not be a traditional card game with various gameplay aspects taking place in third-person combat, but there’s no denying that there is enough here to warrant a place amongst other card based titles whilst providing a unique set of features that are more than enough to keep the player engaged.

LeaveNASCAR Heat Evolution – 35% off – £17.99

Releasing a racer on Xbox is a difficult thing to do, after all with the Forza franchise taking up most of the time of racing fans in the gaming community, you’re going to be needing something truly special to gain a fair amount of interest. Unfortunately, the world’s most reputable left turns aren’t the answer, especially when you can pick up the official NASCAR expansion for Forza Motorsport 6 for roughly the same price right now.

With gameplay flaws to go alongside it, even at the reduced price, there are better options to head to if you’re looking for a top quality racing experience or even a NASCAR experience. There are so many other top games at incredible prices this week, then we see no reason for you to bother with NASCAR Heat Evolution – there are in fact several better ways in which your money could be spent on a much more enjoyable gaming experience.

So, there we have it, the best and worst of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold discounts. Do you agree with our choices? We also advise that you head over to CDKeys and grab some of their cheap Xbox Live credit prior to buying anything from the list – every penny counts!

I’d stick a recommendation down for Shadow Complex, that was a great game on the 360 and for £6 is a bit of a bargain.
