Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 5th December 2017

-

If you’re anything like me then the fact Christmas is just a few short weeks away means the following weeks are going to contain the stresses of shopping for presents, wrapping presents and remembering which label goes on which – and the worst thing about it is that there’s no Gamerscore attached for getting it right.

For those of you who have already planned ahead though, or are just those looking for a break from the festive madness, the weekly deals could be just what you need to relax. So let’s take a look into the Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale for 5th-11th December 2017, to see which games you should be adding to your collection… and which you should be leaving well alone.

Grab – 10tons Physics Puzzle Double Pack – 70% off – £2.16

If you’ve yet to experience the joys of the simplistic masterpieces that have come from the minds of the guys over at 10tons, then you’re seriously missing out. Whilst the two games included in this Double Pack – King Oddball and Baseball Riot – may not be the most intricate works of art, it’s fair to say they provide some darn good fun.

For little over two quid you could find yourself enjoying two of the finest physics puzzlers since Angry Birds, with King Oddball having you take on the role of The King and swinging boulders back and forth to destroy each of the many progressively harder enemies that appear to put an end to his reign. Alternatively, you can slip into the shoes of retired baseball star Gabe Carpaccio who is on a crusade to free his former teammate from the grasp of Explodz Inc. in Baseball Riot. It’s baseball – and it’s a riot!

For such a small price you’d can’t get a bigger bargain.

Grab – Crazy Sports Bundle – 50% off – £3.00

It’s a week of bargain bundles this time round and another smashing deal brings together two of the wackiest games on the Microsoft Store.

For three quid you could find yourself solving mind boggling physics puzzles, all the name of football, with Super Party Sports Football. In this unique puzzler, you must find the best angles to strike the ball as you look to combat the many enemies and teams on route to the cup final.

Or maybe you’d prefer to jump in with some Dynamite Fishing – World Games. Fly fishing? Who wants to be so original when you can grab your guns, stock up on those explosives and head on down to the idyllic ponds and beautiful coastal reefs to catch some fish redneck style.

With tons of daring football scenarios and countless fish to catch in Dynamite Fishing – World Games, for just three pounds who doesn’t want these little gems in their library?

Grab – Artifex Mundi Fantasy Bundle – 50% off – £6.00

Another great deal that could well have seen us include either of the Artifex Mundi bundles with the Essential Bundle also on sale for the small price of £8.00.

In the spirit of saving however we’ve gone with the Fantasy Bundle as the cheaper of the two options, but either way you swing, you’ve nothing to be disappointed in. With two of Artifex Mundi’s finest titles included in the form of Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride and Eventide: Slavic Fable, you’re sure to be getting hands on with some of finest storytelling available.

The first of the two titles Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride tells the story of a hero and her twin sisters wedding. When the bride is removed by a giant bear, the adventure kicks off and a world of legend and magic beginds to unfold.

The other fine title in the Fantasy bundle brings the adventure of Eventide: Slavic Fable. Inspired by Slavic mythology, this exciting tale sets us down in a contemporary heritage park in which many mythical Slavic creatures co-exist with humans. The adventure begins with a famous botanist and her invitation to visit the park from her Grandmother, in the hopes of saving an endangered plant – but it doesn’t take long to find out the plant is the least of her concerns.

Whilst £6.00 may not be the cheapest deal this week, it’s certainly a price worth paying for two great titles from the great Artifex Mundi Collection. Of course, if you have a budget that can stretch a bit further, then the Essential Bundle is also well worth a look.

Leave Dungeon Defenders II Standard Edition – 50% off – £10.00

A 50% price drop may not sound like the worst deal in the world, but when compared to the other fine deals on offer it’s hardly one to be shouting about for such an unflattering title.

With microtransactions aplenty and very little in the way of a unique or memorable experience to be had, Dungeon Defenders II is best left to those with a hardcore love for the Dungeon crawling genre, and with better titles still available on the Microsoft Store, we can’t find a way to advise you into a purchase of it with this weeks Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale.

So, there we have it, another batch of weekly deals and with Christmas fast approaching it could be the last real opportunity to squeeze in some self-indulgence before the festive period goes into full swing.
