Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 5th July 2016

It may surprise you to see that the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 5th-11th July 2016 is still managing to run alongside the rather awesome Xbox Ultimate Games Sale. But it is, and it is bringing some fairly nice discounts to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners who own an Xbox Live Gold membership. Which of the discounts should you be picking up, and which should you be leaving well alone? Let us tell you.

Grab – Action Henk – 50% off – £6.00 – Xbox One

We’re big fans of Henk. In fact, when Action Henk arrived on Xbox One, we were more than pleased with the fast paced time trialling that it offered. Now, with 50% off and a measly £6 asking price, you should be getting a download in pronto. It comes with a large set of levels to jump, run and butt-slide your way around, and if you can manage to persuade a friend of two to get involved as well, will find that the competitive animal in you just doesn’t rest.

It’s as close as you can get to mixing Sonic with Trials – and it works wonderfully!

Grab – Tower of Guns – 67% off – £3.96 – Xbox One

In a week dominated by the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale, it’s strange that we see a couple of titles included in the standard Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale that are both more than worth checking out. Tower of Guns isn’t the best game you’re going to play this week, but with a decent 67% discount, and a price that is roughly the cost of a pint of London’s best ale, it’s more than worth a shot.

First person shooting has never been delivered in such a pure form and if you’re looking for something that will keep you running and gunning, Tower of Guns will deliver.

Leave – Farming Simulator 15 – £9.89 – Xbox 360

I could have included either Farming Simulator title in the ‘Leave’ camp this week, for if we’re being honest, both editions are absolute tosh. But I’m settling for Farming Simulator 15 as the one title you must keep away from this week. Unless you’re ingrained in the farming world, chances are you’ll find the simulated version an absolute headache, full of mind numbing tasks, full of glitches and full of well, animal crap.

The £9.89 price tag is around about £9.88 too much. Avoid.

If you want to check out the full deals for the week, then you can find the full Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight sale for this week right here.

As always, if you like the look of the stuff above and decide to grab something, we’d love it if you could tell us what you pick up in the comments below. You may fancy saving even more cash as well, and heading on over to CDKeys and picking up some cheap Xbox Live credit first should be pretty high on your agenda.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
