Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale bargains should you pick up? – 23rd May 2017

-

With just weeks to go before E3, it’s fair to say we’re arriving at one of the most exciting times of the year if you’re an avid gamer.

For many of us though the idea of new game announcements means that our backlog will end up filled with even more games we’ve yet to complete. But if you’re one of the few who have powered through all of this year’s offerings already, what better place to look for something to fill the gap till the next big release than in the weekly Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale – the one running between 23rd-29th May 2017 no less.

So stick with us as we take a look at the best and worst of this week’s deals.

Grab – LA Cops – 75% off – £2.70

Starsky and Hutch. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of LA Cops.

The Mayor is on the phone and he wants two of LA’s finest cops on the job. It’s time to take down the bad guys and finally bring The Big Boss, Hawaiian Mo to justice.

LA Cops is a fast, action-packed, 70’s themed, top-down 3-D shooter, and for the next seven days, it’s dirt cheap with no less than 75% stripped off the usual price. That puts it into bargain territory and so if you’re looking to take control of two cops, and want to break a crippling crime ring, then now is your chance.

It’ll be tough, but heck, it ain’t nothing you haven’t done before, and the £2.70 it’ll cost for you to get involved could well be some of the best cash you’ve spent this week.

GrabSheltered – 67% off – £3.30

Think you could survive the wasteland and keep your family safe? We’re not talking Fallout here guys, we’re talking Sheltered, the post-apocalyptic disaster management game.

After a global apocalypse, your frightened family have found their way to a deserted shelter. Can you protect them? Can you survive? One mistake, one bad decision and you could lose a loved one forever, But with radiation, mental exhaustion and combat claustrophobia a possibility, can you turn the cold and cramped shelter into a home alone, or do you trust those from outside?

With many moral dilemmas to deal with, it will be you that decides if your struggling family die of starvation, or if that body could be put to good use for a hungry family. A hungry family who only have £3.30 to spend no doubt!

GrabOri & the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition – 50% off £3.99

It may not specifically be a ‘Deal With Gold’, but hey, it’s a bargain and it’s running alongside the Deals With Gold discounts. That’s what you’re here for right?

Unless you’re one of the few who missed the indie wonder that was Ori & the Blind Forest, then you’ll know all about the emotional rollercoaster ride that came with the 2D platforming masterpiece. What many don’t know is that the Definitive Edition brings back that wondrous story of a dying world and adds new areas, new abilities, new music, new story elements and much more.

In doing so, it makes one of the best games to arrive on Xbox even better – one that can now be yours for just £3.99!

I suggest you take this advice and grab the little gem whilst you have the chance… and go about saving the world of Nibel once more.

LeaveGrand Prix Rock ‘N Racing – 50% off – £3.20

As nice as it would be to bring you an entire week of only must grab offers, it’s not going to happen. There are too many titles out there for every one of them to be perfect, and Grand Prix Rock ‘N Racing is certainly a perfect example of that.

Whilst the F1 series may be massively over priced for the casual racing fan, there are many better options to be had if you’re looking for a competent racer. GPRnR (I’m not typing all that again) is a top down take on F1 that offers upgrades, championships and 20 car races. However, it also offers terrible audio, even worse AI and possibly the worst handling of any racing game ever.

Whilst we would usually beg you to take a look at most things under four pounds, this is one that you’d be better off without.

So, there we have it, another week of the best and worst Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight sale deals rounded up for your perusal. Will you be jumping into any of this week’s crazy offers? Let us know in the comments below or via our usual social channels. Don’t forget to head on over to CDkeys to grab some super cheap Xbox Live credit before you start your spending.

As I said on the main sales article, Ori is fantastic and is a must buy for anyone that is interested in games.
