Welcome FURY as Darksiders III announced by THQ Nordic!

-

The first two Darksiders titles went down fairly well – we know that because we loved them – and today THQ Nordic have announced that Darksiders III is in development!

Due for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2018, Darksiders III is being created by Gunfire Games, a team largely comprised of the original Darksiders creators. With THQ Nordic behind the publishing, and the introduction of a new, unpredictable and enigmatic hero, FURY – a mage who is the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, chances are the third game in the Darksiders line will live up to its predecessors.

“As promised, we have taken our time to ensure that this next Darksiders will be everything action-adventure gamers and especially Darksiders loyalists could dream of and more,” said Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO, THQ Nordic AB.

“The Gunfire team brings an intimate involvement with every aspect of the Darksiders franchise since its inception,” said Reinhard Pollice, Director of Business and Product Development, THQ Nordic. “There is simply no team better qualified to create Darksiders III, beginning with our unpredictable and enigmatic hero FURY – a mage who is considered the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!”

Little else is known as we write, but we will of course keep you fully updated with any progress of Darksiders III as and when we have it.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Not wanting to be picky or anything, but aren’t the Four Horsemen War, Death, Famine and Pestilence? Where does Fury come from?

Guess we’ll have to ask Reinhard Pollice, Director of Business and Product Development at THQ Nordic the answer to that!
