Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 12th Jan 2016

The latest Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale is in place and gives all Xbox Live Gold members the chance to save a bit of cash. With a huge emphasis on Forza, this week’s offerings can’t be described as particularly great for those non-racers out there, but let us point you in the right direction and tell you which of this weeks sale titles you should be picking up, and which you should be leaving well alone.

Grab – Blue Estate – 70% off – £3.12 – Xbox One

If you’re looking to spend three hours with a game, then for a little over £3, Blue Estate will keep you well entertained.

Running as either a Kinect title or controller only affair (it works infinitely better with the latter btw!), Blue Estate brings about a whole ton of humour as you blast your way past waves of goons on an on-rails adventure through a number of delightful levels. Whether you fancy some single player action, or want to jump in with a friend via the co-op mode that has been included, the £3 on offer is a bit of a bargain. In a week which is pretty weak for decent discounts, Blue Estate stands out as the go-to title.

Grab – Another World – 20th Anniversary Edition – 50% off – £3.20 – Xbox One

There is no doubt about it – you will either love Another World, or you will bloody hate it. Whichever it is though, the £3.20 price tage makes it more than tempting for either those who have never played the game before, or indeed those who took in the original some 20 years ago.

You’ll only really get a quick hit of enjoyment though as it really is over just as things get going, but if you want something to sit in front of and just pile mindlessly through, Another World does the job.

You’ll even pick up a ton of easy achievements in the process.

Leave – The Jackbox Party Bundle – 25% off – £29.99 – Xbox One

This is possibly the worst timing we’ve ever seen for a discounted title. The Jackbox Party Bundle isn’t bad, but with the party season finishing a couple of weeks back, we’d hazard a guess that many gamers will be quickly ignoring this one.

25% off isn’t particularly great either and in a week where you can pick up a couple of decent games for around £3, ten times that price isn’t going to attract many new buyers to something that really does need a bit of a crowd for maximum impact. By all means pick it up now and hold on to it for the next 11 months until the Christmas/New Year period comes around again, but 11 months is a long old time and we’re guessing you’d probably forget you had bought it by then too!

So, that’s about it for this week – not the greatest seven days if you’re looking for a bargain, but at least Blue Estate and Another World will keep you busy until this time next week!
