Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 17th-23rd July 2018

-

The Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale is back again and this time round it brings with it a number of discounted Anime titles for good measure. But which are the very best Xbox deals on the table present between the 17th-23rd July 2018… and which should you not be touching with a bargepole? We take a look.

Grab – Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 – 75% off – £4.50

It’s a shame that for a second week running we’re not seeing the stupidly cheap pocket money purchases that are massively welcome with the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale, with very little available at low, low prices.

But we do have a few cheapish games, and one of those is the content rich Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2.

Now, obviously you can grab this as part of the EA Access vault, and so should you have a valid subscription to that, then this will be of no interest to you, but if not, and you want a hugely enjoyable, massively fun shooter that is full of customisation opportunities, then there is possibly nothing better.

For less than a fiver, or just over that for the Deluxe Edition, if you haven’t yet entered the fight between the Plants and the Zombies, then now is your chance.

Tempter – I Hate Running Backwards – 33% off – £8.05

I Hate Running Backwards isn’t the best game you’ll be playing this week, and it’s not even the cheapest, but for a bit of fun, and a ton of shooting action, it really does sort you out.

A multitude of unlockable characters, skills, abilities and, of course, weapons, will be awaiting you as you take part in a never-ending roguelite that takes you through procedurally generated worlds.

The rather lovely art style holds things together, whilst Serious Sam stars in yet another game. Surely those two things put together could just about tempt you in?

Leave – Fortnite – Deluxe Founders Edition – 40% off – £25.00

2018 has been the year of Fortnite, and it’s therefore great to see the game finally discounted. But it’s not the standard Fortnite game that the kids are playing, it’s the already free Battle Royale mode – and so a £25 price tag attached to the Deluxe Founders Pack isn’t something you should be worrying about.

Of course, if you haven’t yet got to grips with the utter phenomenon that is the Battle Royale version of Fortnite, then make sure you sort yourself out pronto, but just be aware that spending cash isn’t something you have to do.

So, not the best of weeks but there are still a few Xbox One titles worth considering once more. If you do like the look of a bit of Zombie action, or just want to run backwards forever more and wish to save even more money, then make sure you spend a minute or two with the team at CDKeys prior to getting your purchase in. Their cheap Xbox Live Credit is a no-brainer.
