Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 18th August 2015

This week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale is packed full of discounts for both Xbox One and indeed Xbox 360 gamers; but which are the deals you should be spending your cash on – and which should you steer well clear of?

Well, if truth be told, One owners are going to no doubt be saving a bit of cash this week as their offerings are minimal to say the least. Xbox 360 players on the other hand have access to a huge number of some classic titles, all reduced to decent levels.

The best of the best and the worst of the worst though are as follows:

Leave – Batman: Arkham Knight – 25% off – £41.24 – Xbox One

One of the best game of 2015 so far (yes, even the Batmobile bits!), is just still too expensive to warrant purchasing in this sale. If you’re a fan of Batman, then you’ll have no doubt picked it up already…if you don’t like the Caped Crusader, then for a smidge over £40, you probably won’t be tempted in by the Arkham Knight.

However, all that said, it’s an amazing game that everyone should buy…just maybe hold off a little longer and wait for a slightly cheaper price if you haven’t yet got involved.

GrabAny of the Tom Clancy titles – 75% off – £2.24 – Xbox 360

Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, GRAW, GRAW 2, H.A.W.X – the Tom Clancy titles ooze quality (okay, maybe we’ll ignore H.A.W.X!), and for a measly £2.24 each, you can pick up a number of the above titles for less than a tenner all in. We personally advise anything that includes Sam Fisher’s splintering exploits, but you can’t go far wrong with any of the Tom Clancy titles that have been discounted this week.

In fact, why not grab the whole damn lot!?

Grab – Midnight Club: LA – 67-75% off – £2.99 – Xbox 360

You may just have seen us championing Midnight Club LA in the past. Well, we ain’t going to stop now.

One of our favourite Xbox 360 street racers is currently available for less than a beer and should be checked out pronto.

It may not hold it’s own against the likes of the latest NFS and Forza titles, but for customisation and exploration, Midnight Club has it all.

Leave – Modern Warfare 3 – 50% off – £24.99 – Xbox 360

Come on. £25 for a game that is four years old? We don’t care how good it is and how much of a following the Call of Duty franchise has, the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale should be filled with bargains. Modern Warfare 3 isn’t one of those.

Drop it to a tenner and we may just reconsider.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
