Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 26th Jan 2016

At first glance, this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale has seemingly got a whole ton of discounts in place. It’s only when you delve a little deeper that you realise the vast majority of the discounts in place between the 26th Jan and 1st Feb 2016 may not be as good as they first seem.

Indeed, fans of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Far Cry will be happy to see bargains ready for purchasing, but if you aren’t, then well…it’s a little bit trickier to find something you’ll like.

All that said though, we reckon you should be grabbing and/or dismissing the following titles from the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 26th Jan – 1st Feb 2016…

Grab – Tachyon Project – 50% off – £4.00 – Xbox One

Anyone who knows me will know exactly how much I love twin stick shooters. Seeing Tachyon Project at half price is therefore too good to turn down.

With plenty of unique enemies in place and a super smooth fast paced piece of gameplay to draw you in, Tachyon Project is very nearly a must buy for the shooting fans out there. It may be lacking online multiplayer, but as a solo experience, £4.00 is nearly impossible to ignore. If you need convincing just a little more, check out our review.

Grab – Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – 75% off – £2.49 – Xbox 360

Being able to grab a Far Cry title for the measly price of £2.49 is too good to be true. It gets a whole ton better when that Far Cry title is Blood Dragon.

Okay, we’re not looking at one of the real big additions to the Far Cry franchise, but Blood Dragon is a stunning cyber shooter that transports us to an evil 1980’s VHS inspired vision of the future. You’ll need to get the girl and kill the baddies, if only so you can save the entire planet.

And for less than the price of a pint of beer, it is quite possibly the biggest bargain of the week!

Leave – Rise of the Tomb Raider Deluxe – 10% off – £62.99 – Xbox One

There is no getting away from it…Rise of the Tomb Raider is a stunning game.

But we’re not here right now to speak about how good or bad a game is. We’re here to chat about whether the discounts in place thanks to the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale are good or not. In this case, it’s a massive not!

10% off the deluxe version of Ms Croft’s latest adventure is hardly worth writing about, let alone getting excited over, and for a few quid over £60 we really cannot recommend this to someone looking for a bargain!

Leave – Grand Theft Auto V & Megalodon Shark Cash Card Bundle – 50% off – £59.87 – Xbox One

It’s time to lump GTA V and Rise of the Tomb Raider into the same pot. It’s just too highly priced to be thought of as a bargain.

Admittedly, the 50% off is a ton better than that found in the Lara camp, but still, £60 for a game that has been doing the rounds for some time is a bit off. Admit it, if you were really bothered about GTA V, you would have picked it up long ago…the inclusion of a Shark cash card ain’t going to sway you into a quick purchase.

As always, you can find the full Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale right here. If you do fancy getting involved with one or two of them, then head over to CDKeys and pick yourself up some super cheap Xbox Live credit.

Rise of the tomb raider is worth every penny…. trust me, graphically its the best game on Xbox one. Gameplay has improved significantly from the first and if you enjoyed the first newer Tomb raider, this one is awesome. Ps4 owners will also enjoy this game soon from what I hear. Great article, peace!!
