The latest Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale has thrown up some quite decent bargains. With both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners being treated to fairly sizeable discounts on a number of great games, if there were ever a week to open the wallet and purchase a game or two, this is the week to do it.

We take a look at both the best, and the worst bargains on offer in the Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 30th June – 6th July 2015.

Grab – Thomas Was Alone – £3.60 – 50% off – Xbox One

Thomas thought he was alone, but in this simple looking puzzler, that is as far from the truth as you can get!

What is quite possibly one of the finest puzzling titles available on Xbox One, with a smooth narration, teasing the story at every twist and turn, Thomas Was Alone is a must buy at full price – which means the 50% off that is currently available to Xbox Live Gold members means this is a bit of a no-brainer.

Leave – Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare – £11.55/£8.24 – 67% off – Xbox One/Xbox 360

Yet again I sit here and tell you not to buy an EA game. The 67% off Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare does, at first glance, look to be pretty reasonable. But the Xbox One’s EA Access scheme means that anything over a fiver just isn’t worth the hassle. Instead, purchase a pass for Access and get playing Garden Warfare plus a ton of other games for free. Even the Xbox 360 price point doesn’t quite cut the mustard.

Grab – Burnout Paradise – £3.74 – 75% off – Xbox 360

What is there to say about Burnout Paradise that hasn’t already been said. Quite simply, it’s one of the greatest arcade racers to hit the Xbox 360. Even now, many years after its original release, players hark back to how good it was, how exciting it was and how much exhilaration was gained from tearing down the streets and hitting the big jumps in some of the fastest cars available on Xbox 360. Backwards compatibility may be in its infancy, but Paradise should be nailed on to make its way to Xbox One.

Leave – Chivalry – £5.99 – 50% off – Xbox 360

Being honest here, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is probably the biggest disappointment in an otherwise stellar Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale. Whilst the 50% off is tempting, I just can’t see enough people playing it to make the 12 player online battles that are present in Chivalry work.

By all means buy it, but ensure you have at least 11 friends who are happy to splash the cash with you!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
