Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 6th Oct 2015

The last few Xbox Live Deals With Gold sales have been pretty damn decent with plenty of offers on the table for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. Well, there’s a new sale in town and it’s running from the 6th-12th Oct 2015. Which of the deals in place should you pick up…and which should you leave well alone?

It has to be said, it’s a bit of a rubbish week all round. Whilst those who play Happy Wars will be well, happy to be able to pick up some coins for a reduced price, unless you fancy going back to pick up some packs on Sniper Elite V2 on Xbox 360, it’s quite possibly a week to forget. Except for the ones listed below of course…

Grab – Ultratron – 75% off – £2.00

How can we tell you to leave an Xbox One game alone when it can be picked up for a measly £2? We can’t. So we won’t!

Ultratron may not be the greatest ever addition to the Xbox One Games Store, but it ain’t all that bad and for £2 should be snapped up without even thinking about it. You’re never going to get this nostalgic, human-race avenging title for much cheaper and so if you need something to while away an evening or two, grab it.

Our review may tempt you in further…if the £2 price tag is still somehow a stumbling block!

Tempter – Escape Dead Island – 75% off – £3.74

Escape Dead Island wouldn’t usually make it anywhere near a recommendation, but the price makes this a bit of a tempter.

It’s not a particularly good game, in fact it’s full of bugs, utterly rubbish visuals and some of the most laughable acting you are ever going to see, but, and this is a huge but, it’s rather decent mindless fun. If you can look past everything you have ever been taught about videogames, then Escape Dead Island should be considered..at least at this price.

Leave – WWE 2K15 – 75% off – £13.75 on Xbox One and £11.24 on Xbox 360

WWE 2K15 may be stripped of a huge 75% of its price tag, but the fact of the matter is, with a new game just around the corner and nothing more than average reviews at best, WWE 2K15 should be left alone.

Perhaps if you’re just getting involved in the whole wrestling way of life, then it could just about be worth a punt, but on the whole 2K15 isn’t going to bring an awful lot of pleasure.

Hold off and buy WWE 2K16 instead. You won’t have to wait long!

So, that’s about it for this week. Not the best, but a £2 Ultratron should keep a few of you busy.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
