The Witness now free to download on Xbox One thanks to Games With Gold

-

If you’re in the market for a new game and quite fancy spending a bit of time with an open world puzzle that never forces anything on to you, letting you get by in your own sweet time, then The Witness should be on your list. But thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for April 2018, you don’t actually have to fork out any cash for said game – for it is free, and it’ll continue to be so for the entirety of April 2018.

Granted, you’ll need to be bringing your uncrumpled, completely pristine Xbox Live Gold membership card along to ensure entry to the free Games With Gold club, but should you have that in place then the Microsoft Store will happily give up its goods.

Usually priced at £31.99, you may think that without the GWG goodies in place then you’re looking at a fairly steep price for an indie puzzler. And you’d be right. Or at least you would be if The Witness wasn’t anything worth worrying about. But truth be told The Witness is an utterly stunning open puzzler that will grab you with every little trick in the book, ensuring you stay for a fair old while.

Should you wish to know more about the game, then our full review can happily sort you out with the intricacies. Make sure you have a read and then get your free Xbox One download of The Witness in.

You won’t want to miss this game.

Game Description:

You wake up, alone, on a strange island full of puzzles that will challenge and surprise you. You don’t remember who you are, and you don’t remember how you got here, but there’s one thing you can do: explore the island in hope of discovering clues, regaining your memory, and somehow finding your way home. The Witness is a single-player game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There’s no filler; each of those puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. So, this is a game full of ideas.
