Massive news for all wrestling fans, not only the announcement of the 24/7 streaming service WWE Network but now it’ll be available on your console in App form.
It is released on Xbox 360 on launch (24th February 2014) and is expected to make it to the Xbox One in summer 2014. Sadly (for most fans, including me) this is US only for a little while, however we are hoping to see it come to Europe and other territories either late 2014 or early 2015. What will the lucky folk be seeing when the launch arrives?
The WWE Network seems jammed full of scheduled programming and a huge on-demand library for what seems a steal at $9.99 per month. All of the PPVs will be live on the network like Wrestlemania 30, Survivor Series and Summerslam plus content from NXT and Superstars will be made available. They will be keeping RAW & Smackdown on their current TV network but there will be replays available on WWE Network.
For the old school fans, maybe a reality series featuring legends such as “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Jimmy Hart, Gene Okerlund and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. As far as On-Demand is concerned, we shouldn’t forget all the back catalogues WWE now owns and we can, at least, look forward to Pay-Per-Views from the past of WWE, ECW and WCW.
This is just a taste of what WWE Network can offer its fans both old and new, it has been a long time coming… it sure is looking worth the wait.
