Available for free right now on Xbox 360 and, through the power of Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One, is Earth Defense Force 2017, a native 360 title that first released across North America and Europe way back in 2007. Now, as you may expect from an Earth Defense Force title, it is up to you to take charge of an EDF soldier in the hope that you can fight back against oncoming alien forces. And that’s pretty much all you need to really worry yourself about.
With a multitude of weapons and equipment options available, this small budget affair is quite possibly the least exciting of all the Xbox Games With Gold titles for June 2019, with the gameplay within probably struggling to keep you interested for too long. Of course, should you have never played it or are new to the Xbox eco-system and wish to see a new game added to your library, then it’s all a bit of a no-brainer to not make the most of the free love sent your way, but don’t expect anything that is going to wow you.
Usually priced up at £11.99, those gamers with a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription to hand should pay the Xbox Store a little visit in order to set their download of Earth Defense Force 2017 in motion, with the game then playable on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
