Xbox One – In Stores This Week 10th – 16th April 2017

-

There are just the two games heading into stores for the Xbox One this week, with one looking to rejuvenate the platforming genre and the other taking a rather relaxed approach to gaming.

Yooka-Laylee – 11th April – Xbox One

Join Yooka and the wisecracking Laylee on an epic adventure to thwart the devious Capital B, who’s just absorbed all the world’s books. Taking on a large variety of puzzling challenges and level designs geared up to test your platforming skills, the main aim is to search for all of the pages of their stolen book – known as Pagies. With huge worlds to explore and eventually expand, an unforgettable cast to meet and loads of collectibles to hunt down, you’ll be spending plenty of time with the awesome duo in Yooka-Laylee. You could even grab yourself some buddies to play through a handful of local multiplayer games.

Stardew Valley: Collector’s Edition – 13th April – Xbox One

When the main protagonist’s grandfather dies and leaves a rundown farmhouse to look after, there are two choices; you carry on with your boring office job, or you try your hand at being a farmer. Fortunately, it’s the latter and Stardew Valley allows you to start from scratch, breathing life into a neglected farm. Managing resources is a key factor in helping the farm flourish, whilst also making important decisions about purchasing seeds and growing crops, before ultimately selling your wares for some much needed income. There are even options to fish, slay enemies and keep animals, so this charming game is no one-trick pony. The collector’s edition features a map of Pelican Town, a mini-guidebook and the soundtrack.

Of course, if you don’t want to buy your games in disc format, you could always get involved with a digital download. Buy your points from here and save money on each digital download you make!

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
