2 new Neogeo titles bring retro goodness to Xbox One

Latest Reviews

It’s been a while since us Xbox One gamers have had the chance to get involved in two new ACA Neogeo games on the same day, with the steady slew of retro goodies arriving individually on a weekly basis. But it is now in which we are once more seeing the Xbox library increase with games from years gone by. Ready for some more Neogeo gaming sessions?

Available right now on Xbox One are both ACA Neogeo Ragnagard and ACA Neogeo Kizuna Encounter. Priced up at ÂŁ6.09 each, these games from decades gone by represent some of the Neogeo goodies of the time, with the team at SNK originally dropping both to the world back in 1996.

But what do you get for your money now? Well, both are fighting experiences that see you trying to down numerous foes, but whilst Ragnagard deals with gods and beasts of legend, it is Kizuna Encounter which is a bit more ‘real’ with fists of steel needed in order to see you taking down tag-team matches.

Don’t expect to sit there and be wowed by anything that these games are able to deliver, especially in terms of visuals – remember, these are more than 20 years old – but the gameplay should still just about stand the test of time and so if you’re one of those gamers who like to embrace the games from the golden days, then they may well be worth picking up.

You can grab both ACA Neogeo Ragnagard and ACA Neogeo Kizuna Encounter on Xbox One up from the Xbox Store right now. Go and spend some cash!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
