6 of the easiest achievements from the Xbox One games released in March 2020

-

Whilst many parts of the world are facing the prospect of plenty of time at home due to self-isolation, don’t let that be an excuse to not work towards something. Mainly, increasing your Xbox Gamerscore! Here is a look at some of the easiest achievements from the games released throughout March 2020 – and who knows, maybe you’ll even discover a new game or two to help you get through this unique and confusing moment in time.

R.B.I. Baseball 20 – Take a Dive – 20G

R.B.I. Baseball 20

Sadly, there aren’t achievements in this latest instalment of the arcade baseball simulation for doing the simplest of things such as scoring a home run or getting a strike out, and at first instance this may seem like a tricky achievement. But R.B.I. Baseball 20 sets this one up for you perfectly to unlock during the tutorial.

After learning the ropes at pitching and batting comes the new controls for fielding. You quickly learn to stand in the shrinking target when a ball has been popped up, but then the game tells you that if it looks like you won’t get there in time, you can press RT and dive for the ball. Best of all, this being the tutorial you can attempt it as many times as you like until you nail that dive and hear the bleep bloop of another 20G.

Perhaps it’s because of the unnatural animations of the player movements – as highlighted in our recent reviewbut even when diving for a catch, you can be a bit further away than you realise and the ball will still land neatly in your glove.

Roundguard – Flagon Rushes/Shade Sneaks/Fizz Pops In – 20G

Roundguard

A trio of gimmes next on our list.

Roundguard is best described as Peggle meets dungeon crawling as you fire your spherical hero at pegs – or in this case gold, enemies and more – and clear the dungeon. There are three heroes to choose from: Warrior, Rogue and Wizard, and in fact it is when these are first used that the achievement pops. Start a game with any of them and you are 20G better off; start a game with all three and you will have an easy 60G. There is even a tutorial before all this with another 20G to earn. So, you could have a nice 80G bonus before you’ve even really started the main game!

Fans of Peggle longing for a new entry into the puzzler may want to peruse our review of Roundguard to see whether it fills the pegless void.

Freedom Finger – Tipper Gore – 150G

Freedom Finger

Yes, you read that correctly, an easy achievement worth a whopping 150G, and all you need to do is visit the options menu.

Freedom Finger is a highly satirical tongue-in-cheek space shoot ‘em up where you pilot a spaceship shaped like a hand flipping the bird. At least, that’s how it appears in the default settings. A quick trip to the options and you can censor the offensive spaceship – amongst many other things, you can also censor the bad language – which will morph the ship into a less menacing looking spaceship.

Then all that is required is for you to finish a level with the middle finger censored and you have a nice 150G to your bank balance. I wish there was more to it to justify the large amount of Gamerscore but it really is that simple.

Hidden Through Time – Found You! – 30G

Hidden Through Time

A hidden object game featuring maps throughout periods of history… let’s call it Hidden Through Time!

The entire 1000G contained within Hidden Through Time on Xbox One can be unlocked within around two hours but instead the first achievement is for simply finding the first hidden object. Bang – 30G!

There are also achievement milestones for finding 10, 25, 50 and 100 objectives that reach as high as 70G, so this is a game full of easy achievements. And be sure to check our review to see whether the gameplay matches the cheevos!

TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 – Let’s Pretend It Never Happened – 15G

TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2

This next achievement might not be the biggest gain but may be the easiest one on the list considering the amount of times you will be doing it.

TT Isle of Man 2 is a motorbike racing game based on the famous race on the island known for being notoriously difficult. The game is very much along the same difficulty, so any gameplay feature designed to help you out will be used more often. This achievement is for using the respawn feature for the first time, allowing you to swiftly get back into the action when things go wrong. It’s just a shame there isn’t an achievement for doing it every time such is the frequency you’ll be doing it.

On the flip side there is an achievement for falling off your bike 50 times too, so expect that one to be the second achievement you unlock! Just have a read of our review for how difficult it can be.

Bleeding Edge – Certified – 50G

Bleeding Edge

Another substantial shot of Gamerscore, and it comes from the rather excellent Bleeding Edge, Microsoft’s latest first-party offering.

Bleeding Edge is an online team brawler in a similar vein to Overwatch and Battleborn, featuring a roster of heroes in a 4v4 brawler environment. With several new fighting styles to learn, a tutorial is definitely necessary; thankfully Bleeding Edge has one and even rewards you for completing it.

These tutorials will appear at the beginning of the game – though you have the option to skip them initially if you so choose. Out of the four tutorials, completing only the first three is required for the achievement: Combat Basics, Objective Control and Power Cell Control. Advanced Tutorial is not required for the Certified achievement but may give you an edge over the rest of the field. Complete the first three tutorials and you can have another 50G in exchange.

And – perhaps best of all for Bleeding Edge – this game can be found on Game Pass, which means it doesn’t cost a penny. That’s free achievements for any subscriber!

And that’s just some of the easiest Xbox One achievements out there for games released in March! Are there any others you have unlocked during the start of the world’s extended period of lockdown? Let us know in the comments, and let’s get everyone boosting their Gamerscore during these strange times! We’ll be back in April with another list and hopefully more positive things to look forward to.
