7 more games get removed from the Game Pass service on Xbox and PC

It’s the end of the month and that can mean just two things – there are some new free games popping up via Xbox Games With Gold, and it’s time for the Game Pass service to remove a number of titles from our hands. As April comes into view, that means no less then 7 Game Pass titles up and leave.

We may be well used to it, but taking a look at the Game Pass leavers never feels great. But that’s what is happening again today as 7 games spend their last 24 hours in the service. This time around those games ditch the free love on Xbox and PC, instead requesting players – that’s you, me and us – need to pay cold hard cash for play opportunities.

So what’s leaving? Well, there are some proper classics in this list, some stand outs and some that we won’t care for their removal. The full list is as follows…

  • A Memoir Blue (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Chinatown Detective Agency (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • ClusterTruck (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Double Dragon Neon (Cloud and Console)
  • Kraken Academy!! (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • MLB The Show 22 (Cloud and Console)
  • Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid (Cloud, Console, and PC)

It makes sense that MLB The Show 22 is gone, mostly as MLB The Show 23 usurpes it, and we can take or leave Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid without too much concern. But it’s the likes of Chinatown Detective Agency (4/5 in our review) and A Memoir Blue (3.5/5 score) that we are disappointed to lose.

Others may want to open the wallet and pay up for a proper copy of Clustertruck now that is leaving Game Pass, as it’s proven itself to be a game that is uber challenging, but highly satisfying. But then, this released originally back in 2016, so chances are if you were already sold on what it offered, you’d have splashed the cash by now.

Of course, if you’re looking for some more Xbox and PC games to be added to the Game Pass scheme, then those will be coming. We’re still waiting to hear for full April launch confirmations, but we do know that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be hitting the world of Xbox – finally – come April 12th, whilst the highly anticipated Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will arrive later in the month. We’ll keep you update with further additions as they are known.

For now, enjoy your last 24 hours or so with the Game Pass leavers – let us know which you’ll be cramming in on this final day. Perhaps you’ll find a little cracker that deserves a full purchase. Whatever, let us know about it in the comments.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
