Seattle made perfect sense as the base of the first two Coffee Talk games: it is arguably the home of coffee and the birthplace of humanity’s recent obsession with lining high streets with coffee shops.Â
So, the first question I had when I saw that the new Coffee Talk game would be set in Tokyo was, why the change?
You may think that by going to the Sunny Cafe, you'll be able to pick up your favourite coffee. But you're likely to come away from this visual novel with much, much more.Â
We love our coffee, but whilst we'll tinker with grinds for days on end at home, rarely have we ever considered ourselves for the barista life. That possibly changes with the release of Barista Simulator on Xbox.
It was obvious that the arrival of Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly would be of interest. We reached out to the team at Toge Productions in hope of finding out more in advance of release of the sequel. Junki, their lead writer and narrative designer was more than happy to chat.
