With its actual mission and objective based gameplay, Dragon Pinball may just be the best pinball game yet from Super PowerUP Games. But based on what has come before it, that isn’t really a compliment.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers already appears to be waning in regards to the player base and that comes as no surprise. The lengthy matchmaking, the poor gameplay mechanics and the damn ugly graphics used for environments are just the tip of the iceberg.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on Xbox One is a thoroughly enjoyable game, but those familiar with the series will get more out of it. Despite some relatively minor flaws, regardless of who you are there’s lots of fun to be had here.
It wasn’t that long ago that Dragon Ball fans wanted a more in-depth experience to the console adaptations of the series, which to some degree was received in the form of the Xenoverse titles. But then Bandai Namco switched it up and decided to fulfil the much requested classic fighting experience, reeling in acclaimed Guilty Gear developers Arc System Works in order to make it a reality. Thus Dragon Ball FighterZ was born, a 2.5D fighter. But could it really rival the now saturated fighter market filled with the likes of Marvel vs. Capcom, Injustice and Tekken?
There’s no doubt about it, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 is an improvement on its predecessor, but occasionally even the best of games can become stale, or lacking its original spark. After just a couple of months I’d strayed away from the action, and now I’m looking for a way back in. Maybe a spot of new content will do the trick? Step forward the DB Super Pack 1 downloadable content; can it deliver value for money and a decent amount of fresh content to those who have previously exhausted everything Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 has to offer?
Now it’s time to see how the fast-paced fighting role-playing game, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2, fares. Can experienced developers Dimps deliver everything that was good about the original, and make the much needed improvements to ensure it’s a great game?
With a very experienced developer of the series returning this time in the form of Dimps, how on earth can Dragon Ball XenoVerse rejuvenate the tales for its debut on the new generation of consoles?
