It's been a little while since Far Cry 6 was at the forefront of our minds, but right now it's time to go and get Lost Between Worlds, with the latest major expansion for the game.Â
In our latest Game Pass article, announcing the game’s leaving the service, we wrote “today’s the last day of the month, so it’d be a push to expect anything more” from Game Pass. It’s not the first time that we’ve been wrong. Microsoft, as is their wont, stealth-released a game onto the service in the last moments of June.
It's fairly safe to say that whilst Far Cry 5 was still able to provide a more than rounded Far Cry experience, for many fans it didn't quite have the draw of those games which went before it. It did however have a great antagonist in Joseph Seed - the iconic villain of the piece. Today Seed rocks up in the latest Ubisoft adventure with the Far Cry 6 DLC 3 Joseph: Collapse content.Â
If someone mentions Far Cry in a conversation, it won’t be too long before its unbelievably well-written villains are discussed. It seems Ubisoft know this all too well, as the Season Pass for their latest instalment - Far Cry 6 - comes in the form of three separate DLCs, each of which focussing on a key villain in the series’ history. With Far Cry 3’s Vaas taking the limelight in the first DLC, Vaas: Insanity, this time around we will be throwing it back to our adventures in Kyrat with Pagan: Control.
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil - Far Cry 6 players have known for some time that they'd soon have the chance to expand their base experience with the addition of some rather intriguing new content, and that would probably have been enough to have warranted a purchase of the Far Cry 6 Season Pass from the off. Now that first expansion piece is with us as we take a trip into the mind of Vaas with Far Cry 6's Insanity.Â
Far Cry 6 is a slow burner, but once it gets going it really sinks those hooks. Fans of the series will have a blast, whether alone or through the cooperative options. Granted, the menus can sometimes over complicated things, and the cutscene stutters are annoying, but the main point to take away is that if you love open world games, especially those which provide fun, excitement and the freedom of choice, then come to Yara. It's not a huge revolution, but it's a fun one.Â
I bet the last thing you’re thinking when wandering round Yara in Far Cry 6 is how this would look as a UNO deck. But at least now you don’t need to contemplate at all as the UNO The Call of Yara DLC is releasing for Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles.
The Far Cry franchise has come a long way since the early instalments, yet whilst the series highlights of Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 are long behind it, there's still just something about it which means gamers will be clamouring to take a look. That's the case with Far Cry 6 - a game which provides access to the most expansive Far Cry experience yet.Â
It's been a while since we've really been able to get to grips with the Far Cry franchise, but come October, players on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Stadia will be able to involve themselves in the next iteration of the open-world shooter. But don't think Ubisoft are sitting back after launch, for in fact they've got a ton of stuff planned for Far Cry 6.
