It's immediately obvious - no matter whether you watch the trailer or look at the screenshots. Fur Squadron on Xbox and PlayStation has obviously been inspired by the iconic Star Fox. And we don't mind that one little bit.Â
We've long lost count of the weird little platformers that release weekly on Xbox as indie publishers deliver cheap and cheerful gaming products to the masses. That's the case with the latest to land. Just remember, Foxes Need To Eat too.Â
There are slight issues with combat in the early stages, but the exploration and puzzles on offer in The Last Case of Benedict Fox are very good indeed; they will keep you playing as you attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Lovecraftian influences, stunning visuals, robust puzzling, unique combat, immersive narrative and some gorgeous jazz noir elements. Is there anything The Last Case of Benedict Fox can't do?
Has any other animal been represented as much as a fox in videogames? Other than humans obviously. I would put a healthy amount of money on foxes coming out on top. And here it yet another one. Rise of Fox Hero is out today on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
