It didn't take long for Rocket League to really cement a place as an icon of the video gaming scene. Having first launched on PC and PS4 back in 2015, and then making a move to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2016 and 2017 respectively, Psyonix have ensured that one of the most critically acclaimed sports games of this generation has continued to go from strength to strength. Much of that has been down to the constant influx of upgrades and feature sets that have hit the game, ensuring that no matter how much you play it, it continues to stay fresh. Well, the next update is looking likely to be Rocket League's biggest yet - going free to play.
Going up against the likes of PUBG and Fortnite with a hefty price attached was always going to take some doing, but Darwin Project rocked up into Xbox Game Preview regardless. Now though, a whole different route is being taken - the one of free-to-play.
